What are the laws when it comes to ordering something over the internet illegal and gets seized at customs?

usually, if its illegal in your country it will be seized if your caught and a letter will be sent to you notifying you, do it to many times and they could build a case and maybe raid your place

is it worth the gamble than ? ive ordered stuff as simple as certain foods i can only get in the country i lived in and its been seized for whatever reason, it was oatmeal.

The gamble is up to you. Start out with a small order just as a test to see if it makes it. (Sucks about the oatmeal. I love that stuff, too.)

Sounds to me like the customs officer forgot his snack at home, saw your oatmeal and smiled.

Just make sure you don't sign for any package. If you sign for it, the DEA will be in right after the postman leaves.

a bit off topic, but who orders oatmeal from overseas? you should have saved up for the domestic oatmeal lol

I order online all the time. Never had problem domestic or overseas (knock on wood). But ...Find a domestic supplier...you pay a little more but it is worth it as not as big of a chance to get searched/seized. Thatguyhim is 100% correct. NEVER sign for anything

Sorry for the thread heist, but I was wondering too about ordering from a domestic source...maybe it's a dumb question, but do I use my real name and address, or should I use a fake name and po box? How does that work?

po box or fake names doesnt matter. You need id to get a po box anyway. Also if you are caught you can face more charges. If they want you they are going to get you. Signing a fake name or putting return to sender on the pack and leaving it by the door doesnt matter.

I didn't say that. It certainly won't help if you sign for it. Sources will generally not send a package needing signature release. So right there you will know something is fishy. I wouldn't sign for it---but if you want to...go for it. Nobody is going to arrest you for a couple vials of juice anyway. LE has better things to do. Worst thing that will happen is that they take your gear and you are out $$$.

plenty legit ones require signature. It all depends on how you want it shipped. I have had to sign for alot of packs

im a ny giants fan and as much as i hate the eagles, bigdog 99 is right... find a domestic source.. i will NEVER order internationally again.. maybee i just have bad luck but ive never gotten an international order through customs (only empty packages with green tape and seizure letters inside)..
