    Injection problem - help

I went to pin this morning (250mg of sustanon), I cleaned the area, and injected remembering to aspirate as well. After pulling out the needle, about half of teaspoon of blood came out.

I have a slight lump/bruise in the area. Is everything ok? Did I lose the gear? Do I need another dose?

    Thanks.

    Ken

Common issue. You didn't lose the gear, you went through a vein on the way in and it bled when you pulled the needle out. I usually get a bit more post injection pain after going through a vein or hitting a nerve during injection.

Thanks, cbg. I hear you on feeling a little more sore this time around.

Was there anything I could have done differently to avoid this?

If you injected into a vein you would not have time to post a question before you started feeling VERY light headed and sick. You would live but most people FEEL like they are going to die when they inject into a vein.

    You are fine.

It's tough to see the veins if they're under the surface. Kind of hit and miss. It happens to me every now and then. Generally not a problem.

This response is a bit unsettling...Would a 1 1/2 needle go deep enough to avoid ever injecting directly into a vein?

1 1/2 in is the ideal length but you still go through veins since you start at the surface and yes you can still hit a vein that deep, that is why you aspirate.

29g is really VERY thin and would not take much to break it off. I use 25g myself, 21g to draw because I am in NO hurry when it comes to injecting and taking 2 minutes is no big deal especially since it saves 2 days worth of soreness since most people like to inject FAST and cause bruising of the muscle due to BLASTING the fluids into the muscle.

Every IM injection causes muscle tissue damage at the cellular level. Injecting slowly will help.

When I aspirate, I generally pull back about 0.1 - 0.2 ml on the stopper and look to see blood. Once I saw it air flow in the chamber.

This is the correct procedure, right???

    Blood = bad.
Pull out, change needles and inject into another location

Air bubble = good. Continue with injection.

Well, I'm experiencing a similar soreness as my usual injections so hopefully that's a sign that I didn't lose the gear. Thoughts welcome.

You did NOT loose the gear. Stop worrying about it. LOL
