Just put it all in an empty protein jug, tape it closed, and throw it in a dumpster.

^ lol so bad. Cap the pins, then break the tips off ( be careful not to stab your fingers )

I like the protein jug suggestion.

Vials ect can be throw in a dustbin however you need a sharps box for needles and barrels
Do not ask me for a source check.

Trash can in the house, move trash can out to lawn when town picks trash up, then it's gone.

When I go to grab my barrels and pins, I ask for a couple injection disposal boxes as well. They are free in Canada.

Those of you who say to just simply put it in the garbage can...I pity the person who collects your trash. That is both dangerous and irresponsible. Get a proper sharps container and dispose of properly it's not that hard.

Thats a good idea. I use teh sharps bottles they give away at the local needle exchange. I dump the full bottles into their own bio-hazard bin (where I see all the other bottles, from other people). Nasty view.

    Sharps container for starters

Most pharmacies will have a list on hand showing the local places that you can take them to. The easiest for me is actually over at the local fire department.

I don't understand... Sorry but I'm not from the USA... And you guys get me curious...

Is it a crime to just dump needles, ampules and vials in to the trash to be picked up later?
What's wrong with it? Or what's the big deal?

    Thanks

You can buy a sharps container at most pharmacies/drug stores.
Some hospitals and clinics have drop offs where you can leave them.
Tell them you a diabetic if they ask.

People scavaging in the dump or a worker picking up a bag can get pocked by a loose pin. It happens all the time. Not much fun if you are the worker. You dont know what was in it, if the person was HIV positive or?

It is legal to put them in most any solid container then throw it away like a pop bottle.

A $5.00 sharps container will hold 200+ pins, not counting the syringe, maybe more then you just toss it when full.
