Thread: Training differences between on and off cycle.

Training differences between on and off cycle.

I'm just curious, what do you guys find is the usual difference between training when on cycle and when off? I train a combination of the Westside template and general strongman training and aside from being able to lift more weight, I've found that it's almost twice as hard to overtrain when I'm on. Also I'm a lot less prone to injury while I'm in the middle of a cycle.

I usually train 4 days while on cycle and 3 days when off. Most people will tell you it'll take more time to recover after each workout.

I try to keep my lifts heavy- I usually train HIT (Dorian style) to keep my strength up during PCT. I'm a little more lethargic post cycle but since I'm only training 3 days a week I'm usually always looking forward to my workouts.

None. I always try to train hard on or off. I add a little more weight while on and Maybe switch up changing/adding muscle groups push/pull or push/push instead of single muscle groups but other than that it's 5x a week, 4 minimum...

I hardly notice the DOMS when 'on', but feel the aches for days when 'off'...

When ur off get more rest, and do more restoration work (light feeder workouts, contrast showers, myofascial release, massage etc....).
Also cut back on the volume a little.
Some cut down on intensity as well, as i'm a powerlifter i don't drop the intensity it's just not productive to my goals but, by doing all the rest still allows me to make some strength gains even coming off.
Stay on top of your diet too.

    Stay strong,
