You should be eating and below you cite one hour prior for a total of 3 non-eating hours right? Just make sure it's far enough in advance a good hour and half (for a meal) to keep from hindering your session, yet still provide some energy. Bars, shakes and light snacks can be eaten while entering the gym/lockeroom!

Not so, that's right when you should be eating - every 2.5-3hrs right? Plus absorption is optimized because your bloodstream and glycogen depletion.
Can I take the ephedrine with food?
Yes, and follow the timing the guys outlined above. Just be sure not take it so late that interferes with sleep - this varies depending your bedtime and receptor saturation, but you can work that out experientially.
