    recovering from adrenal fatigue

    hey guys,

after being diagnosed with stage 3 adrenal fatigue, i quit my extremely stressfull job which actually is the main contributor, i cut training heavy to very light training, got a multivitamin for stress management that contains herbs and adaptogenic substances which is ULTIVITE men , and i can say that it is helping me A LOT.

i couldn't stand without feeling dizzy or going to fall , now i can.
anyways, everything is starting to get back online except these things :

    - the fat i have accumulated on my waist.
    - my sex drive and erections, both as desire and performance.
    - my strength and muscle growth.

i started my treatment with vitamins and herbs from about 3 weeks now and feeling better, how long will it take in your opinion to at least get my sex drive back and the other stuff ?

This is an excerpt from the Mayoclinic. Who diagnosed your adrenal fatigue??

Adrenal fatigue is a term applied to a collection of nonspecific symptoms, such as body aches, fatigue, nervousness, sleep disturbances and digestive problems. The term often shows up in popular health books and on alternative medicine Web sites, but it isn't an accepted medical diagnosis.

Your adrenal glands produce a variety of hormones that are essential to life. The medical term "adrenal insufficiency," or Addison's disease, refers to inadequate production of one or more of these hormones as a result of an underlying disease. Signs and symptoms of adrenal insufficiency include fatigue, body aches, unexplained weight loss, low blood pressure, lightheadedness and loss of body hair. Adrenal insufficiency can be diagnosed by blood tests and special stimulation tests that show inadequate levels of adrenal hormones.

Proponents of the adrenal fatigue diagnosis claim this is a mild form of adrenal insufficiency caused by chronic stress. The unproven theory behind adrenal fatigue is that your adrenal glands are unable to keep pace with the demands of perpetual fight-or-flight arousal. As a result, they can't produce quite enough of the hormones you need to feel good. Existing blood tests, according to this theory, aren't sensitive enough to detect such a small decline in adrenal function — but your body is. That's why you feel tired, weak and depressed.

It's frustrating to have persistent symptoms your doctor can't readily explain. But accepting a medically unrecognized diagnosis from an unqualified practitioner could be worse. Unproven remedies for so-called "adrenal fatigue" may leave you feeling sicker, while the real cause — such as depression or fibromyalgia — continues to take its toll.

As the adrenal starts to recover, your sex drive will start to return.

Here is a article on how to help regain your sex drive:

"Get as much rest as you can. Try to be in bed by 10 pm each night. People with adrenal fatigue are known for getting their "second wind" after 10 pm. Try to get your body used to winding down before this happens. Try to sleep until 9 am every day. If this is not possible, then catch a nap whenever you can, even if it is only on the weekends. Your body needs time to heal.

Assess your diet. Eliminate foods with a high glycemic index. This includes all "white foods"--flour, bread, rice. Replace processed foods with whole foods, preferably cooked at home. Add more organic vegetables and be careful about the amount of fruits you eat. Those with adrenal fatigue often have issues with the sugar in fruits. If you must have fruit or fruit juice, do not have it first thing in the morning. Eliminate any foods that do not agree with you. It is common for those with adrenal fatigue to have food allergies or intolerances.

Hydrate. Another common symptom of adrenal fatigue is dehydration. Water often doesn't seem to do the trick no matter how much you drink if you have adrenal malfunction. You can fix this by adding 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of salt to your water first thing in the morning and in the afternoon. If you can tolerate the salty taste easily, it is a sign that your body needed the sodium. Alkaline water is also helpful for hydrating.

Buy alkaline water or alkaline drops to add to your filtered water.
Get some gentle exercise. Yes, you're tired, but gentle exercise will help your body restore itself. Twenty minutes of moderate walking every other day is a good start. Stretching exercises such as yoga are also beneficial. Try to alternate days of gentle cardio and stretching."
