I think so. I prefer ECA over clen. Clen tends to give me headaches but this is just my opinion. Some prefer the opposite. But to answer your question, yes, eph is comparible to clen with respect to fat loss success.

Ephedrine cuts my appetite right down so i tend to stay away from it, food is very important even in cutting, i prefer clen IMHO but everyone as their personal choice.

The first couple of times I took clen I hated it. Kinda felt like someone hit me up side the head with a 2x4. But, I did get used to it, and now it's my preferred cutting aid. It doesn't bother my sleep much like it did at first and the sides just seem more tolerable. I do cycle it 2 days on/2 days off. After trying every other combination, that works best for me.
