Vial leaked

I have a vial of test E and have never used it yet. It was sitting sideways in drawer. It may have slightly leaked as I can see a very small amount of the oil residue on the outside of the vial. The vial looks nearly full so not much got out. Is it still safe to use? Guess I need to keep these things upright.

Filter it? Never heard of this. Yeah don't wanna waste it. It is a 20ml amount.

I just looked at ar-r. I see some filters and also sealed and unsealed vials. What ones would I need? I wouldn't need a hand crimper tool would I? It is pricey!!!

You want a sealed sterile vial I would think. just pull it from the current vial, filter it into the new sterilie vial, and it should be good to go. Use alcohol were appropiate to make sure not to contaminate. At least thats practically the method when we i worked in a micro lab

Ok, I think I was just confused on how this filtering thing works.

So I hook a needle one end of the filter. Then a syringe to the other end. Filter is in the middle. Then just draw oil from old vial and push it in the new sealed vial. So the oil is getting 2 passes each time through the filter?

Should I go with the .2 filter and warm up the oil in the old vial? Does that help it pass through better?

Hope it is this easy. Only a few bucks to do this and I'm not out 20ml oil

no. pull the oil out into the syringe with out the filter. Take the needle of put on the filter and needle then inject it into the new vial

I'm confused. What sort of gear is this? Is it UGL, homebrewed, or HG? Does it have a flip top on it? I'm just trying to figure out how the oil could possibly have leaked out.

It is UGL gear. Not a flip top. It has the rubber stopper in the top. On top of that was a metal seal holding the rubber down with a plastic cap that you break of to get to the rubber stopper. I guess in shipping the metal ring seal could have been smashed. But I can't tell. I have 2 of these vials and when they arrived they were both perfectly level to each other. Then all the sudden the one had a very slight leak and the level was barely lower.

My biggest needle size I have is 23g. Will this work? Or should I get 18g?

The 23g should work fine for the small volume you're doing. Just warm up the gear first.
