Red blotchy patch at injection site.

So after a quad injection I have a blotchy patch of redness right beside the injection site about 48 hours later... it isn't painful beyond what my normal injection pain has been and the post-injection pain has been dissipating as normal nor is it swollen/raised and I have no fever but it still concerns me a bit. Is it likely I just didn't go deep enough or should I be weary of infection? I have been massaging the area for the past little while which generates no discomfort as well.

Anyone? I am finding a lot of stuff online but nothing pertaining to painless red blotches (and it isn't even at the injection site it's off to the left of it?). It's slightly warm... not warm enough that I can even definitively say it's warm if that's understandable.
