Newbie Here Looking to Get Started.

First off let me tell you a bit about myself:

    Currently I'm 25. 6'2". About 195-205lbs. 36W & 34L

I was at my smallest (170lbs) when I was on the track team throughout high school and college. But over the past 4-5 years I've gained about 25-30lbs in the chest/ stomach/ butt areas, and lost a lot of my lean muscle and definition. But I don't think it's too evident to people as they guess me at 160-170lbs. I'm not worried about how much I weigh though,so much as how I LOOK.

My legs, from the knees down, have always been slightly smaller and, in my mind, disproportionate from the rest of my body. No matter how much weight I pressed, my Gastrocnemius and Solues muscles never got bigger just stronger. This has bothered me to the point of going on a lot of extreme diets in order to make my body match them...but I'm done doing that now.

I'm totally set in my mind that I'm going to be starting steroids soon, but there are a couple questions I have for the more experienced users out there. Hopefully you guys can help.

    1. I'm more of an extreme cardio person, so how will steroids affect me?
    2. Is it realistic for me to JUST target certain muscles while on steroids?
    3. Do steroids aid in some type of tremendously beneficial weight (fat) loss?
    4. With regular exercise and maintenance, will the results I get last AFTER I'm off of steroids?
    5. What would the best steroid combination for what I'm asking?

Thanks for reading, and I hope to have some good answers and great times ahead.

I'm going to ask the most important question of all............

    Diet:

My diet consists, right now, of high protein meals with very carb conscious sides. I'm not a junk-food person, never have been. Mostly a lot of home cooked meals. Nothing fried. Usually baked or grilled.

Meats are Beef, Turkey, Chicken, & Fish
I eat tons of all kinds of vegetables
    Cereal/ Oatmeal/ Multi-grain toast for breakfast
Maybe some sort of sandwich or wrap from someplace for lunch
A nice hearty, but not fattening meal for dinner. Home made.
    Humus/Protein shake between meals
Menu changes day-to-day so the contents change, but the idea is pretty much the same.

    Training Regiment:

A lot of cardio. A LOT. I'm usually running 4 times a week for 1-2hrs. Like I said, I'm a runner, so I'm constantly running because I am well aware that cardio leads to better fat loss. I don't hit the weights a lot because I'm not interested in getting "Big". I want so desperately to balance the muscle load of my body...and hopefully lose a ton of fat while doing it.

I've never had my BMI measured, but I think I remember being around 12% body fat. I'm looking to be 7-8%.

No need for steroids in your case. Why use something that builds extreme muscle if thats not your goal? Hard work, education, and dedication go a long way What you need is someone to organize your diet and cardio. Cardio timing is important and also how you do cardio is as well,

Looks like you need to head down to the diet section and start doing some reading. Start researching more about diet for you goals of fat loss on the internet.

Well I need them because of my legs. That's what I was getting at in my whole story in my OP. I've trained my legs in the past for years and never got the results I've wanted. Steroids are now my only option.

I'd rather have huge legs than anything else. My thighs are already at a great size. I need my calves (gastrocnemius and solues), and hamstrings to match. I want my legs to catch up to my body, rather then my body catch up with my legs. I can always lose weight, and no how to do that efficiently and effectively.

It could simply be genetic. You can't fight against something you simply were not given, you just learn to accept it.

How do you know steroids are going to automatically get your legs bigger and achieve all the goals you want. If you don't get any results naturally then you won't on steroids either, sorry it isn't magic. As I'm reading you apparantely you are just getting back into it. Put some time into training and cardio for a while. Learn more

What do you do for your calves and hamstrings.

I do stiff leg dead lifts, leg curls, single leg curls and seated leg curls, reps bw 12-20. Explosive to the top and let the muscle resist the negative on the way back down.

Calves, try all types of things, but mostly heavy weight is the way to get them bigger, calve raises on the leg press, or smith machine with concentration on contraction of the muscle at the top and stretch at the bottom. 8-15 reps heavy.

Steroids I'm sorry as much as it stings but its reality won't do the trick. You need to learn better training techniques and dieting. You can't gain muscle like you say you want in your legs while dieting down to single digit body fat. Simple science

LOL, you're kidding right? No, steroids are the only option for AIDs and burn victims that need them to SURVIVE. Remember that these are dangerous compounds to mess with and the end product is superficial for most, so weigh your options and know what you are getting into.

anyway, how bout a couple questions

what type of training have you done for your legs?

have you changed the training up much (reps, ROM, volume, intensity)?

btw, i agree with Reed, that diet isn't helping you at all

Alright I'll try other methods again. I'm gonna go with the fact that I might possibly be doing something wrong. I'm currently on the Insanity workout plan and on week two. I'll (hopefully not) be back after the two months is up and see where I'm at.

Your cardio is intense, you are prob burrning muscle tissue with that kind of cardio.
Most effective genaral plan would be to lift weights 4-6 days a week and get your cardio in less than an hour 3-5 days a week. There are exercises that will help develop the areas you want, but bigger calves is something we here are ALL after, calves don't like to grow bigger.

Hmm this I didn't know. I never thought I could be doing too much cardio. Thanks for that.
