    Test: 13 nmol/ L. 39 yrs old.

I just got my results from blood work. The doctor who gave them to me was a douche bag, any way he said my test was at "13" . I asked him is that in ng/dl? He nodded and said they are "normal". So I'm assuming he was an idiot either because it was a different measurement, or my levels are incredibly low and not normal at all. He said the range at the lab that tested my blood was 5.3 to 28. I live in Canada, does anyone know if the common measurement here is nmol/ L? Also assuming that is the measurement used is my level low for a 39 year old male?

At 39 you arent goign to have test levels in the upper end.

He was probably saying it was normal because you are still in the middle of the range at your age which isnt a bad thing. If you dont believe him go elsewhere and get tested again. Many 39 year old males would be lower than that

Doctors will always say normal unless it hits the upper or lower range. Since your lower range is 5.3, it can be 5.4 or even on 5.3 and he will say it is normal, only when it goes below or above the given range will he do anything about it. Your levels are low. How do you feel? hows your libido? mood? etc?
