    What gauge pin to pull

What gauge pin do you guys use to pull gear from your vials ? I have been using 18 gauge but was told 18 was to thick and would wear out the rubber plunger and create a leak.. I tried using a 25 and 22 or 23 the other day and it took for ever to pull it and it was a pain.

Depending on how big the vial is and how often your pinning it the stoppers will last a while. If you heat up the oil a bit first it will draw up a little easier and make sure your displacing the oil with air. Any of those 22, 23, 25 should be fine. I dont switch needles after the pin myself.

I use a lighter to heat mine. Some people will just hold the vial in their hand tightly for a little bit. You dont want to get it hot just heated up a little to thin it out. Always swap your top with a fresh alcohol pad prior to drawing.

i preload my shots for my whole cycle.. so if i have a ten week cycle with three shots a week i take out all 30 needles and fill them accordingly.. that way i don't have to bother with it every other day and they are ready to go

also.. to draw faster use your needle to fill the vial with air a few times so it is pressurized.. then when you put in the needle it shoots right up.. you must remember every time you withdraw a CC you are creating a vacuum.. that is why the plunger gets harder and harder to pull back as you work your way through the vial.. make sure you put one cc of air into the vial for every cc of oil you take out..

I used to fill a Bailey's cup with hot water and sit the vial on the bottom. Don't want to totally submerse it, and as more and more air gets into the vial, it will be more buoyant so fill the glass with less water.
