im not a doctor.. but that is where your spleen is.. left hand side middle of rib cage..
got this info on it:
The human spleen is an organ that is not necessary for survival, although unlike the appendix it is a useful organ. It is located in the upper left corner of the abdomen, just behind the stomach. The main function of the spleen is to filter blood. When an infection is detected in the human body the spleen, which carries blood stores, will filter the infected blood. The spleen will then destroy the infected, or old, red blood cells.
Without a spleen a person is more susceptible to infections. The sum it up, your body has red and white blood cells in it. The red blood cells carry oxygen to the rest of the cells in your body, your extremities, your brain, the list goes on. The white blood cells are used to fight infections, or other ‘invaders’. These white blood cells single out infected red blood cells and destroy the infection. The spleen has sinuses in it which either contain red pulp or white pulp, the white pulp fights infection like white blood cells, and the red pulp simply removes unwanted material
the only correlation i can think of is perhaps the high red blood cell count messed with it a bit.. but i have never heard of that before, but i wouldn't count it out either
AGAIN, I AM NOT A DOCTOR.. JUST SPECULATING.. WAIT TO SEE WHAT A MOD OR VET HAS TO SAY..

I really doubt that it's an actual cardiac issue being that you're fourteen and otherwise healthy. Chest pain is a *very* common way for young people to express stress... I had similar pains when I was your age. And then, of course, you start thinking "do I have heart trouble" and then you get *more* stressed and it's really a vicious cycle.
Other causes could be a muscle strain or heartburn (reflux), where your stomach acid gets into your esophagus and causes pain in the heart area. So if it doesn't go away in a day or so, go see a doc. These are highly treatable conditions. In the mean time, just try to relax. Put your thoughts away from what troubles you, focus on your breathing, get some healthy exercise.Tinnitus Cures
