Disclosing my future plans of cycling to my doctor - good idea?

Everytime I want to do bloodwork or request to see an endocrinologist my doctor gives me sh*t about not being nessecary to do anything because there is no reason.

I dont want to be denied understanding my own body, so do you think its a good idea if I just tell him I plan on cycling?

Know your laws in regards to AAS use and doctors confidentiality but either way I dont trust them to NOT tell someone so I wouldn't.

Remind your doctor who is paying the bills and you can simply find another doctor if he does not want to do the work.

Canada should be fine, since personal use is legal. You just don't want your insurance company finding out that you use illegal drugs.

im in canada,
when my doctor took my blood he told me I was on AAS and said next time come see him first b/c if im going to do it, he may as well make sure I am ok

Doctors are strange with this shit. I'm in Canada too, by the way.

I told my doctor about it and I asked him if I could get bloodwork done when I decide to do my cycles to make sure everything is okay, and he flat out denied. He said "no because then i'd be condoning illegal activity".

Yeah... even though AAS use is LEGAL here in Canada. Dumbass. So now i'm basically in the same spot before I told him. I have to use AAS behind his back. The good thing was tha the said he wouldn't mark it down in my file so insurance wouldn't see it, etc.

judging from wot the other candians say, i recon it's down to your relationship with your doc.. if you dont have a good relationship with your doc, i'd find another one anyway =)

I would agree with this 100% Its like having a shrink you cant trust that tells your stories to his friends.

Thanks guys. I'd say I do have a pretty good relationship with my doctor. Hes a really laid back guy. I actually got him to prescribe me adderral XR without having to see any specialist :P.

i'm just a bit curious as I live in Ireland so i imagine the laws would be the same as the UK.. What exactly do i ask the doctor?? Do i just ask him to get my testosterone levels ?? or while i am at it do i ask for cholesterol and tryglicerides and all that too???

USA I think they say don't mention it because it can invalidate health insurance... if down the line you have probs they'll just blame steroids and won't pay you a cent.

In the UK... I'm not so sure but before I run my first proper cycle I wanna get bloodwork done... tempted to tell the doc aswell but that may be a stupid move.

Not sure.
