Pretty sure I hit a vein. Leg turned purple.

If you had injected into a vein, you would have gone into a coughing fit and had a really bad time. It sounds more like you nailed a vein but went through it, which then caused massive bruising when you pulled out the needle as the blood came pumping out (small-scale hemorrhage).

this happened to me before.. it leaves a nsaty bruise but it doesn't hurt cause you never got hit.. it will take quite a while to go away.. i.e. a week or two.
