    Cardio

I had a question towards cardio and its importance with bodybuilding. I read on the forums here that cardio was essential when taking anabolic's (20 minutes at least 3-4 days a week). It got me to thinking is cardio necessary while still lifting naturally? For myself personally i do not care about adding additional fat to my body, i'm already consuming near 4000 calories a day at 5'7 165 pounds. So, in conclusion would running be advised while still lifting naturally?

It isn't necessary or even conducive to bulking.
It's mainly useful because it is beneficial to your lipids and cardiovascular system.
It is especially recommended when using AAS because we need all the cholesterol help we can get, since cholesterol rises when you stop producing your own test (since the body synthesizes test from dietary cholesterol and saturated fats).

I think it is funny when you see someone who is clearly RIPPED, completely shredded, but gets winded running up a flight of stairs to get to the weights. I believe being is shape is a two part equation. While MY main focus is strength and getting myself to look as good as I can, I personally believe cardio is important as well. IMO, a little cardio is healthy and will do a body good

Honestly, I'm 6'0 - 195 - 11% BF and I steer clear of cardio. I try to keep breaks between sets to less then 30 seconds, and I try supersetting quite often. I'm on a floor hockey / volleyball team, and although my cardio isn't superb (in terms of running a marathon), I still think it's fine.

In terms of bulking up, I still think you could get away with 15 mins 3 days a week of light - medium cardio.

But yeah, once my cycle starts I'll be doing 15-20 mins x 4 days a week forsure, and I'll probably continue to keep that up once I'm off it, it's a personal preference I guess.

Thank you again everyone. My goals, i suppose you could say, would be to gain as much mass (in both fat and muscle) as i can one day. Thank you very much for your help everybody, and i very much appreciate it.

Well, heck -- that part's easy. Not healthy, but mighty easy. Start with a large pizza tonight followed by some ice cream or cheese cake for desert. Repeat as needed until maximum desired density has been attained.
