Long ester= longer time to take full effect myth?

I've always read and believed due to it that the longer the ester the longer the half life and the longer the half life, the longer it takes to kick in. But i've read a few posts lately that state long ester has nothing to due with how long and that most if not all steroids take full effect at the same time. Another reason that makes me wonder this, is that whenever i take any kind of test base like enanthate or sustanon, i notice large muscle gains immediately, and people have always said it takes at least 4 weeks to notice full effect.

The ester needs to be cleaved off, but that doesnt mean you wont get ANY of the effects before the ester is cleaved away.

Labido, strength, LBM gain all seem to kick in after a few days even when I run Enanthate.

Fat reduction, sense of well being take a little longer.
