Calorie intake while on Gear
Hey all,
Pretty new to posting but been viewing and learning for a year or so now. Going to start my first real cycle in a few weeks. Just wondering about calorie intake.
Right now my diet is very dialed in at about 3000 calories a day....approx 40/40/20.
My stats,
age 31 (today)
5' 7"
190lbs
BF 13%
I've changed my mind a few times but my cycle will look like this.
week 1-4 D-bol 40mg per day
Test Sust weeks 1-10 @ 2x250 per week
HCG weeks 3-12 2 x 250iu per week
PCT 12-16 Clomid 50/50/40/40 Nolva 40/40/20/20
Just wonderin with all these compounds should I be taking in a hell of a lot more calories. I want to avoid putting any as much "bad" weight as possible.....really looking for dry leaner gains. Maybe even drop a couple of % of BF
Should it be up closer to 3500?????
Any opinions

i have not run a cycle myself i plan to soon in about the next 6-8 months but unless the whole point of this cycle is to simply maintain the gains you already have and lose bodyfat i would raise them more than that or actually in my opinion if it were my cycle this is what i would do personally
before starting the cycle if i were you i would cut down significantly to about 8% bf then i would cycle and that way if you cut down to about 175 that would probably be around 8% bodyfat could be a little more or a little less that was just a rough estimate but i think that can be done pretty quickly probably over the coarse of a month or two without to much muscle loss so then you can see where your body is and where you want to take it from their im sure on a cycle like this you could gain close to 20 pounds so still a rough estimate but that would put you at 195 8% bodyfat so then you can do the calculations to see how many cals you would need to take in to maintain a bodyweight of 195 with metabolism and activity level taken into account and use that number of calories as the number you will be eatingLast edited by bbh90; 11-30-2010 at 02:00 PM.

Agree with the above statement. Drop that bodyfat first! Doing this not only is safer for you also makes your body less apt to having estrogen related sides such as bloat, gyno, etc... You're definately on the right track bro just be patient and you will be glad you did.
As for the original question, yes you will need to increase your overall caloric consumption. Your body will/should naturally increase your appetite in response to the heightened hormone levels. I eat so much, especially at the beginning! Rarely must I focus directly on eating more. Good luck and do well!

I would have to ask what is your caloric intake right now and are they clean calories.. I would say that you need to be eating around 3000+ while on.. now take this with a grain of salt as I have not cycled yet but will soon and I can only seem to eat between 2800-3000 and I eat all day long. I do eat clean food which as I said is a must. IMO though I think you realy need to reevaluate this cycle for the simple fact that you have not done it and have no idea what side you may encounter. You should keep it simple for your first go round..... Just my .02
Ps you should post your diet in full to give us a better idea of where you need more help at.. Best of luck.

Thanks for the reply's.
I personally don't really think that I should have to much trouble with my BF% at this point....as for getting down to 8% or less before starting my cycle....it would be nice but don't see it happening.
I really don't see the point in cutting down that low....which for one is a lot my difficult then it seens and would definitely take longer then a month or so, and secondly I dont want to cut down to 8% in the month of January. If I'm going to carry a few extra pounds its going to be in the winter.
Papa-g just wondering why you ask me to re-evaluate my cycle. U say that and then don't give any reasons why except that you don't know about the sides.....well that can be said about everyone with every cycle...especially coming from someone who has also not done a cycle yet (no offence). This cycle is very simple for a first go around. If you could explain what you meant that would be great.
Thanks again for the replys and I will put it at 3500 and re-evaluate as I go week to week to try and avoid any extra bad weight.

Guys, 8% BF is unrealistic for most, and pointless unless you're competing or modeling. Assuming he has some upper abs showing, he should be fine.
The again, everybody's idea of 12% is a bit different, so it would be cool if you just posted a pic, OP.

Check out your BMR and then TDEE (google) Figure that to be high by 500-1000. I'm 6'2" 230 lb 45 yrs old 13% BF (I think) and am bulking at 3500 calories, all clean. If you go to the diet section and post it with all the macros and a pic, there are some very smart, experienced dudes (Gbrice) that will sort you out. They sure helped me with my diet. Remember, stay consistent and diligent and be ready to change based on what's happening to your body. Good luck!!

Everyone is different. Whether im on or off cycle at 3000 cal i will not gain anything and actually start to lose. I maintain around 2500-3000.
Like the above post said, calculate your TDEE and add 500 to that. You're just going to have to play around with your intake to see what works best for you. Keep your diet clean and you should have no problems.
