    Wait or Start?

Background: I have run 3 cycles in the past, currently at 205lbs at 5'9" pictures posted in the threads.

I had a rotator injury six months ago, ever since then I have taken my training easy. Over the past month I have gradually taken it up. I no longer powerlift and eliminated flat bench from my workouts.

I have taken a bodybuilding approach to my workouts with the exception of deads and squats which are heavy.

Question: I know I may not like the answer but would like some unbiased opinions. My joints feel a bit dry, esp my shoulders (lost of cracking). There is no more pain when I train, I eliminated flat bench which was the only exercise that would hurt my cuff. I continue to do more rotator cuff exercises for strengthening and flexibility.

I was planning on taking a deca/test cycle mid Jan. Should I continue as planned? I know I may not go as heavy as before, but that isnt my goal in this cycle. Focusing on hypertrophy and quality muscle gains.

    Suggestions?

only way to find out is to try bud.. just do not go nuts on the weight.. you will notice most your joint pain go away with the use of Deca.. Deca's benefits on joints is significant enough to almost take it for that reason alone let alone its anabolic properies.

I say go for it. Who knows how long it will take when/if you recover 100% from the injury

Wat does your doctor say.Go by wat he says.I waited a year.Doing bench with dumbbells. With your hands turned to a 45 degree is better for the rotor cuff.I hate machines. But I bought a Bow Flex for just that purpose. Now I bench ok.

So still go on .. knowing that I may not be training at 110%?

Its so frustrating waiting to heal 100%

well how long do you think it will take to get back to 100%? If it's 6 months down the road or so, I don't see a reason to wait that long. You could squeeze in a cycle now and then another one when you are fully healed.

sounds good decas great for joints, just keep doing internal -external rotations for the cuff, plus shark cartlidge, glucoseamine+msm or hyrulonic acid will help the cartlidge rebuild(deca olny puts water to help lube them) but do those with deca..and i think youll be great.

actually recent studies have shown deca can slow recovery from injuries slightly. It's in the latest MD issue

yea, definitely talk with your doctor about this. If you continue as is, and the issue is severe enough, you could have permanent damage (and pain). It's too risky to continue as is... especially if there is pain.

Going for it. I modified my training program to a more body building style approach, training pain free at the moment and focusing on the contraction not the weight age.

Instead of just hitting 1RM, 3RM and 5RM I am going with higher reps even on deads 3x8 and its brought the fun back in training. I would like to see how my body responds to this style of training.

Going to switch between hypertrophy and DFHT.

DECA and TEST here I come.
