The turkey analogy: Gear enters muscle....then what happens?

Has anyone tried to inject marinade into a raw turkey before sticking it in the oven? Well, I have and the results are always the same....the marinade wants to come back out of the injection site, right?. Because of my experience with turkeys (haha, that sounds weird), I'm having difficulty trying to visualize gear staying in human muscle immediately after injection.

If we use the above analogy to describe what is going on in human muscle, I assume the same outcome will occur? The gear will slowly try to escape the injection site? Does this not waste a good amount of gear?

What happens to the gear that manages to stay in the muscle; does it enter the blood stream through the muscle? The gear which has manged to escape; is it absorbed by other means?

^^^ ROFL. I'm just trying to picture that!

But yeah, there are several huge differences here. For one, a marinating needle is MUCH bigger than a 23 or 25g. Also, a dead animal's body will not soak up and absorb an injection like your own body will (and the needle wound won't close rapidly and heal). 1-3ml is a VERY small amount. It just just looks like a lot because its in a scary needle. Oh, and you aren't built like a turkey. Your muscles are much larger (hopefully).

I followed that original post with a more detailed explanation, then decided to delete it all except that.... figured it would get the point across on its own

This reminded me of that Friends episode where Joey put that turkey on his head to scare Chandler... lol.

Dead Turkey carcas does not equal live human tissue.
