    Just out of curiosity

So I am expecting some "dvd's" in the mail any day now so I went to the post office to check my box.

When I opened the box there was something covering the back of it......like somebody had taped a laminated piece of paper to my box on the post office side of it.

I am current with payment so I am just curious if anyone else has noticed something like this.

    Any ideas?

    How should we know?
I'm sure they would leave you a note if there was an issue, not some mysterious laminated paper.

I would ask them to make sure there is no problem with the box. They can tell you if a charge didn't go through, or got lost, etc.

Yeah, Im all paid up through the end of March. They will always leave me a note about a month before it expires reminding me to make a payment for the next 6 months.

I've just never seen that before and with all the recent busts lately I'm sure I'm just being overly paranoid.

I've been noticing lately that the State and Federal governments are going after anything and everything to fill the coffers. The high unemployment rate among many other things have completely drained the states coffers and they are going after the smallest, petty crimes/offenses to try and get $$ anyway possible. Fines/taxes/etc.

Plus I live in a small town with a very low crime rate, so the cops are bored to death just waiting for some action.

So your blaming the law enforcement officers for doing their job? If you want to complain about them go move somewhere that has none so you can go get killed for walking down the road.

Will do...sorry. I just hate when people comment on a post they don't either fully understand or take the time to read before they comment

i am sure it is something they added so you can't just reach your hand into their office space or throw a lit match or something into their office.. I.e. you can put gum on a coat hanger and make a hook out of it and steal mail from your adjoining neighbors mail box.. this sort of plastic would prevent you from doing that.. This is all just speculation, but it would be what would cross my mind way before anything that has to do with your box particularly.

Sounds like a complaint to me. First Your small town cops have plenty of things too do such as bust you for breaking law. Secondly you were complaining the police are doing anything for money such as busting people for breaking the law which correct me if I'm wrong here just sounds like the job of a police officer.

I'm not sure how you think I was complaining. I was merely stating facts. Up until 3 years ago I lived in a city for 34 years that in 2009 had the 4th highest crime rate in the country. I knew plenty of cops and they were all good dudes and the ones I met while they were on the job were cool as hell too. Even though they had a dangerous job and were under stress all the time these cops weren't ego maniacs like the ones where I live now with nothing to do. I lived next door the the chief for 2 years...I know. They brag about the crime rate being low because of how they do their policing when in fact the reason the crime rate is so low is because the people in the community are educated, family oriented, and a church going group. Not to mention the fact that the gun ownership percentage per capita is higher here than anywhere in the US.

As far cops doing anything for money.....I think you misunderstood. It's coming from the top. Its a fact that Federal and State agencies are busting more and more people than in recent years because of the economy. Things that would usually not be a big deal or that would get swept under the rug two years ago people are getting busted for now. Open you eyes and pay attention to what is going on in this country!

With that being said I have plenty of reason to wonder why something is out of the ordinary at my post office box......The reason I asked the question is because we are all here to learn from one anothers experience....

...BONAPARTE and DEC11 - just because you have not had this type of experience doesn't mean someone else on this board hasn't or someone in the future will.......relax if you can.

your right... i remember a few years ago my buddy who was a california Highway Patrol was complaining that they were raising quotas and hiring more CHP's to try and get more tickets to try and offset the deficit.. As if cali would have been so lucky to have their problems solved so easily. .haha

My eyes are open to what is occuring in this country. I worked the last 4 years as an Mp in the army on a small base with little crime and it wasn't my job to bust everything I see happen to gain income. I'm sorry if I misunderstood you it just bothers me when people complain about law enforcement. I got flustered to quickly about it and read into it with what I wanted to read. My apologies.

i takes a big man to appologize.. i too find it funy when people complain about cops doing their job.. whenever i get caught breaking the law i just put up my hands and say "damn it".. can't blame a cop for putting his life on the line everyday.. you do the crime, you better be prepared to do the time.

    No worries RaZr....thanks for understanding.

I too was flustered when I first posted this right after coming back from the P.O. So I'm partly to blame for being overly nervous.

I hope I didn't offend you as I have a lot of respect for our service men and women as well as the others who put their butt's on the line everyday protecting our rights and freedoms.

Luckily I have never been in trouble with the law and I agree with machine5150....if I did get busted what else can you do but admit your wrong doing. I just don't wanna go down because of a few vials of test. I know the chances are slim to none but.....who knows these days??? PS....I didn't mean for this to turn all political

It should be fine. They probabally did it for either their safety. I have Netflix and also live in a small town. The person next to me was getting my movies and vice versa. So the postal clerk put a piece of cardboard up so when she was sorting and went to put it in it stopped and forced her to look at the name. It was her own personal reminder.
