While it is not used as a carrier in the US by drug companies that I know of, many compounding pharmacies use it in the US. I am also sure many other countries do use it in pharma made drugs. There was a study done many years ago on carriers for IM injectables where they compared the safety and long term stability of EO to Veg oil for IM injectables. However the electronic copy of the article was 25 so I never bought it but the abstract did not mention any problems.
I conducted an 8 wk study myself and the patient and found it unremarkable LOL
