can you spot LVH from a chest xray?

Yes, if advanced enough, LVH will manifest as an enlarged left ventricle with generalized enlargement of the cardiac silhouette on the chest film. If the LVH is severe, and you have a thin chest wall, and there is evidence of heart failure, a ventricular heave may be noted on exam. In addition, shifting of the PMI, or pulse of maximal impulse, or your apex of your heart, will be shifted laterally because of cardiac enlargement.

I got a chest x-ray for a different medical reason I wonder if they would have noticed it if I had it, as they were looking for something else
Not that I have been on long enough to have LVH being an issue but, it's nice to be informed
