Powder purity

I was wondering does 2 to 3 percent make a big difference in powder purity & quality? Also usually with the powder purity can't you judge the grade of it

This belongs in the lab section.
And 2 or 3 percent makes a 2-3 percent difference in purity. It doesn't get anymore straight-forward than that.

How do you plan to determine the purity of the powder? Sure it can be a factor in judging the grade of the powder, but it is usually just and advertising statement made by the person selling the powder LOL. Of course the other thing that matters is what the other 2% is if its moisture all you need to do is dry it, if its hexane it will kill you. The other thing that is as important is freshness, a powder can be pure and still be degraded either by long term storage improper storage (cold, hot, damp, in sunlight etc.) or a combination of both.

Yea I've read about hexane contamination, things like that worry me. wondering what is that other 2 to 3 percent but oh well life is about taking chances
