question on sterilizing vials

was just thinking, with all the garbage out there is it possible to sterilize a vial once you recieve it before breaking the seal or will that destroy the main ingredient? im talking about boiling the vial.

you mean.. sterilizing what is inside of it when it is already sealed?

boiling it with increase the pressure and it will explode, not a good idea if u have a multi-shot vial u can put a needle in the top and then boil it so the pressure doesnt change. if its single shot glass vials then forget it!

Most vials have enough space in them to permit this. And if not, it doesn't explode. Somce of the oil just leaks out around the stopper.
When I brew, I always autoclave the finished vials in a pressure canner. This is the best option. You can boil as well (tyndalize), but you need to repeat the process several times.

and boiling oil shouldnt increase the pressure that much, its not water.

tyndalize is the best option IMO, after a .22um filter and 2%ba

buy some emty 10ml steroi;e vials and some 0.2 whatman filter .

draw all the 10ml of oil out of the vials ,add filter and filter into a frensh new vials ..

It's just a pressure cooker/canner set at 15psi for 20-30 minutes. Safe and effective.
