first time injecting delts.. ouch
well i just finished 1cc of sust into my delt i used 23gauge 1.5 needles so i only went 3/4 in i didnt put the entire needle in. i aspirated and no blood. after i was done with the entire cc i pulled out and now that hole area hurts like just like if i was donating blood. the injection site and the surrounding areas hurts, is this normal? p.s when i pulled out a good amount of blood came out. is this normal?

25's will help. What are you pinning?

I always experience discomfort when pinning delts, and I've done it several times to "work it in", so to speak. Not sure why, so I just skip them.

im pinning sust 300. yeah my arms got really numb and felt really weak . but they feel back to normal now. the only reason i pinned delts was cause ive been doing glutes last month and i heard its good to rotate ur pin spots.

i think i might of injected too low into the delts im sure i was supposed to do it a little higher. when blood came out of my gluts once was because i pinned too low into my gluts and when i pulled out blood came out. but still ive never felt the weird weak discomfort that i felt with the delts

Pinning my deltas are the least painful.
But get some 25g /1"...regardless of what u have stocked up on.

Sounds like you didn´t keep the needle still while injecting. You may have grazed a nerve and slit a vessel going out......no biggie.

Yes, it's important to change locations. Scar tissue can be a bitch sometimes, take it from me. You probably just went thru a vein. get used to it cause it'll probably happen again.
Good luck.

Delts are my new fav, I am using 27g by far the easiest I have done...My doc said asperating isn't necessary in the delt...the main bundle of nerves are in the armpit area, so its quick simple and painless.

ok so i just pinned my other delt again and damnit. First off it hurt like hell to put the sust in (i went in as slow as possible but still hurt! and second again, my entire delt is numb. this time only a little drop of blood leaked out when i pulled out, not like last time where the blood was dripping down my arm. I kept it as steady and possible. I hurts to lift my shoulder up, not really in a PAIN way but more in a "my shoulder fell asleep and is numb" kind of way. Did i break through another nerve/vein?
You know what I think it is, im using 1.5" needles andi know im supposed to go 1"1/4 in but i think i might have gone a little more (not all in the way in), you think that was the problem?
I dont mind the pain but i feel like the numbness will effect my performance at the gym. with my glutes ive never had any issues with the 8 pins. Next time im going to switch to quads and see how that works out with me. Can I go all in with my 1.5's or same thing, go in 1 1/4?
my entire arm feels weakLast edited by xt0olx; 06-22-2011 at 03:24 AM.

Possibly virgin muscle. Even though I never experienced virgin pain myself.
There is a "correct" (recommended) way of doing things, and you are not doing it.
There is a reason for why the recommendation is to use 25g/1" needle in the delts and quads.
It would be interesting to see what happens if u use the recommended size.

My concern is that maybe i didnt even inject it into the muscle? whats past the muscle? if i would of passed it i would of hit bone correct? i just did an hour of fat burn cardio and my delt is still super numb and feels kind of week but not as much as before. Im guessing people use 25g cause its thin and less of a chance of passing through a vein or nerve right? It didnt feel numb while i was putting the test into my delt. the numbness began as soon as i pulled out and all the test was in me. I have a huge feeling of doubt that i didnt even get the cc of test into my muscle
Again, thank you for your help/advice/guidance. I very much appreciate it
P.s my delts are really thick theyre not skronny or skinny or anything like thatLast edited by xt0olx; 06-22-2011 at 06:02 AM.

i use a 25g because it makes a smaller hole period. therefore i feel it will heal faster. i'm telling ya bro use a 25g 1" and you wont have any problems. like i said before i use the 25g 5/8" for front delts and even 25g 1 1/2" for glutes and no pain at all. my guess is a combo of the sust (which is always a little painful) and the big pin you're using is the reason for the pain .

Can someone explain aspirating to me please. My doc never mentioned that to me. I stopped TRT because of painful injections into my delts. I would love to start back up. Is it a must to do an IM injection for test or can you do subQ?

You think quads are gonna be less painful? Lol. To hell with quads. Delts are my 2nd favorite site after glutes. Actually, Delts and glutes are the only spots I can pin. I tried quads once and I thought my f'n leg was gonna fall off. I had a knot deep in the muscle for WEEKS. It killed.
My delta used to get sore, but they never went numb like you're describing.

I put 2ml of sus in my quad 1 week ago and i still cant walk properly!
OP, i find with sus if you have the oil on the needle while pushing it in it will sting a little.
