    Just Starting

So I've been lifting, not seeing the results I want.. 5'10, 160... Type 1 diabetic, heard anabolics and similar stuff doesn't affect it, as long as there's no Carbs.. Any suggestions on what I should try? Never taken roids before so should I maybe start on like havoc or something?

i'm a type 1 also. you need to eat more thats the bottom line. Your calories control your weight. You have to eat for the weight you want to be

you plateaud cause you are eating enough for 160. To keep gaining you have to keep increasing your diet.

I know how you feel. I used to think being 5'10" 160lbs was my limit to. Couldnt push past a lean 160lbs for many year..... But.... Then I discovered there really are ways to do it through diet. What I used to think was "a lot of food" now would be my breakfast and mid morning snack haha (almost). I got serious (but more importantly, I got educated) about my diet when I was 20-21 and broke on through.

Breakfast, Oatmeal usually and a protein shake, I'll usually eat an energy bar prework out.. Try to get done before lunch then I'll eat at least 3/4 lbs of beef or chicken.. Dinner around a lb of meat, I try to eat a starch as well with dinner.. Try to have an orange or something before I go to bed, too.

increase slowly helps. But b-12 also works

what type of insulin are you taking and how much. How long have you been diabetic?

Well, I'm about to transition to the omnipod then it will be strictly Novolog... But for now I take 23 of lantus every night, and I take Novolog on a sliding scale... 1x12 g and 1 for every 50 above 150. I was diagnosed at 10, so 14 years now..

Ok since you been a diabetic for a while and know how to adjust your levels. You can bump up your lantis a couple iu's a week, this will lower your baseline sugar causing you to be more hungry. The extra food you eat should keep you from going hypo

I'm sure you endo isnt going to approv of the idea. There is no medical reason for you to need to eat more or gain weight.
