When you are 'on' how many pounds do you increase on an exercise each week?
Major lifts like bench, deadlift and squat, or isolation.

depends on how much one started out with. last time i was one added about 10lbs to each exercise each week. im sure ppl add more but dont like to kill myself since i usually dont have a spotter lol
this cant be defined as one answer.
if you cant lift more than last week try and do another rep.
so technically that is still progress
as long i can lift more than last week im happy lol, even if its 2 more reps lol
It allways depends on exercise , but I try to allways add 5 kg each 2 weeks.
I will go 5+lbs a week in some exercises. Like the earlier posters said, number of reps are important.
I'm an old head too. But only my wife knows I'm senile lol. I'm training for another bench meet and I'm using a % based template, based on a one rep max. It takes the guesswork out and allows me to make small steady improvements over time. It also has built in test days to let me know if I'm on track. For isolation work once I can get ten reps with a given weight, then I add more.
I try to add 5 kg every 2 weeks, on some exercises I can only add 2,5 kg and so on. It depends on muscle groups.
Well I would say adding 5 kg in 2 weeks is like a goal for me , mostly I tend to add less.
