Thumbs down Cycle cut short after only four weeks...where do I go from here?

    Hey guys,

Last week was my fourth week of a twelve-week D-Bol/Test E. cycle that was coming along very nicely. The test was really starting to kick in, my strength and rep # was up every week, and I had gained 15 pounds and by last week had lost two inches in my waist. Side effect were very mild and manageable, and I was feeling great.

Normally I start the week off with a chest day followed by bi's and tri's the following day, then a day of rest before continuing with legs, etc. So on the day after my arm workout I felt like I might have strained one of my intercostals. Unfortunately, I'm prone to this injury and have managed to injure my intercostal a half-dozen times in the same place - sometimes just from sleeping in the wrong position. The pain was mild at first, but I knew I couldn't work out until it healed. I hoped that after a week of rest I would be good to go for this week. I was wrong!

By Saturday the pain had become so intense it felt like I had broken a rib. Every time I took a breath a sharp, searing pain would hit me in my lower chest and resonate through my rib cage all the way to my shoulder. I couldn't lie down, and at times couldn't even sit.

Now it's Tuesday, and even though the pain is less severe, it's obvious that this is going to take weeks to heal, so I've stopped the D-bol and the test and going to start PCT sometime next week.

This is where I could use some guidance. What should my PCT look like after only a month of AAS use. I was taking 500mg of Test E. per week, and 40mg of D-bol per day. My last injection was Friday morning. When do you think I should start my PCT, and should I do a normal 4-week course of Nolvadex and Clomid? I was thinking of waiting 7-9 days from my last injection to start the PCT. What do you guys think?

I'm really bummed out about this injury, and I imagine that by the time I am able to start training again I'll have lost plenty of strength and all my gains from the AAS Unfortunately, since I'm prone to this injury, it's not the kind of thing I could have predicted or prevented. Now I have a fair bit of gear left, but not enough for a cycle, and I won't have the PCT stuff pretty soon either, which means when I do decide to start another cycle I'll have to spend almost as much $ as if I were starting from scratch.

I don't know. I'm very upset. Could use some advice and encouragement about where to go from here.

    peace

^^^ yup. And probably would be good idea to find out why your getting injured. Probably a core strentgth issue or muscle imbalance

I've tried to get answers about this from 2 different doctors in the past because, like I said, this isn't the first time I've had this injury, but doctors aren't that interested in finding these things out. They just want to give you painkillers and get you out of their office. As long as the injury heals, they're happy. A homeopath or even a shiatsu/accupuncture practioner would probably give me a better answer than an MD.

I don't believe it has anything to do with core strength - I've injured the same intercostal before without seemingly doing anything at all, so it's really that particular muscle that's the problem. Perhaps the first injury weakened the muscle and made it prone to being torn/pulled/strained. Either way, it sucks big time because it's not the kind of thing you can prevent or predict. It just happens. It just so happened that this time it occurred in the middle of my cycle and ruined it for me completely. Oh well. Now I'm going to have to do this cycle all over again in the winter. What a waste!

BTW, thanks to both of you for your responses.

See a physiotherapist instead. I can maybe give you a reference to two - One in Georgetown and one in Mississauga.
