when test e at 500wk is combined with HCG IM injection 1ml every 4 days. what is the effect on the HPTA function. test e usually shuts it down. is it worth using HCG to keep it active a little during a cycle ?

The HPTA includes the hypothalamus, the pituitary gland, and the testes.
HCG bypasses the role of the first two by mimicking Leutinizing hormone, thus directly causing the testes to function and produce test.
So your HPTA still gets shut down (because your brain isn't producing LH and FSH), but your testes keep working, which makes recover easier. While HCG actually increases LH and FSH suppression, it is useful because the hypothalamus and pituitary are more responsive to stimulation from SERMs after a cycle than are your testicles.
