Posting for my husband. He is about to start a cycle of TEST 250...questions please

Ok..some of you regulars around here may remember a post I started a month or so ago about how my husband was planning on starting a new cycle. He hasnt done a cycle since summer of 2009. However, we are trying to get pregnant and have been trying now since Jan of this year. I was concerned with him starting a new cycle because of this, but now have just accepted it and am going to just go with it. He was going to wait another 2 months to start the cycle [so we can keep trying], but I told him its not a big deal. This is our last real month trying with him not on a cycle. He also agreed to get a Sperm test done, if I am not pregnant after this month, before he starts this new cycle. I wanted to ask you all more about exactly what he will be taking.

    It is:

Testerone Enanthate 250mg/ml. He said he is supposed to give himself 1cc every week for 10 weeks. Does this sound right?

Also, what side effects can he expect? I dont remember exacty what he did last time but I think it was test 400??[he did it for 8 weeks]..maybe. he said that it was alot stronger. he had some extra hair loss[as he was almost already bald] and also he got pretty bad acne from that. is the acne just as bad with test 250? and if so, what can he take to help with that?

Also, I would like to know what he is supposed to do AFTER he finishes his cycle. Ive been reading about PCT and hear its very beneficial. He didnt know anything about this the last time he did a cycle back in 2009, but from what I have been reading it sounds like its a very good thing and I would like to know what we need to get to prepare for it. Also, is there anything he can take to prevent complete shutdown of sperm production while on it? I have read that there is but not sure exactly what is best? and, when to take it, etc? and if there are any side effects related to that.

In my previous post, you all were asking exactly what he was going to be taking, etc and at the time I didnt know. He just showed me recently so I thought I would let you know.

Would appreciate any info you can provide. thanks alot!!

i remember you last post. Your husband really doesnt know what he was doing. Your best bet is to have him join and do the research himself. all the stuff you are asking is pretty basic. All the answers can be found by just reading the stickies and education threads. Have him go through them lay out a cycle and pct and we can help with adjustments if they are needed. Your husband isnt going to learn buy us just telling you and then you playing relay with the messages.

I was planning on showing him on here about your website and I was telling him about it. In the mean time, do you think that the 250 isnt what he should be doing? I was reading about Beginner cycles and it shows quite the layout of weeks and how much to take. I think I read 400mg/week.

Well, he is not very good with computers and website forums. that is why he wanted me to find out more info for him.

Gixxerboy1 is right, have him join and research here himself before "playing" with AAS.

Everyone will be happy to help him after he's done some work of his own first:-)

Diet? Well yeah, he doesnt diet and never has even when working out. Hes been working out pretty consistently since Decemeber/Jan. He works out 3X per week for about 30-45 minutes. I have told him he should probably be working out more often, and/or longer periods of time. And, i also told him he should be eating a bit better. But, he does what he wants. I can only recommened what I think is best.

I dont think he thinks its that big of a deal to just "do one cycle". He isnt a dedicated guy who loves working out and isnt that dedicated to getting ripped up. He just wants to big a little bigger, and by doing a cycle it helps him along the way, like a little "boost" if you will. I told him if he worked out more often and for longer periods of time he would get the results he wants without having to do a cycle.but, he is just not that dedicated. He has a bunch of other hobbies and things he enjoys doing, more than working out lol...

honestly sounds like aas are not for this guy.

Aas are not the magical "pill" people are often looking for...

He says he likes to work out and feels better in general, when he works out reguraly vs when he doesnt. but its not the ONLY thing he has time for. he works 6 days a week as it is, and has to look after our son 2-3 nights a week when im working. Plus, he loves to play his PS3 and has a race car, RC boats, etc. Like I said, working out is not just the ONLY thing he has to focus on. I wish it were, b/c really, if he wants to be successful, he needs to be more dedicated. but, i dont know if he ever will be. :/

I commend you for looking out for him like you are, but, especially being a nurse(i'm pre-med and pre-pharm so i've spent most of my life in hospitals as well), i'm sure you understand the value of having to do things for one's self and learning from experience. If you spoon feed him everything then he won't pay as much attention and he is going to be messing with every system in his body on a molecular level by doing this cycle, it's not child's play. Also the fact that he's not willing to diet or listen to you(his wife), means that quite possibly he's not willing to listen to anyone, and if that is the case, then he shouldn't do this cycle at all...period.

We would be more than happy to help him, but if we are going to put out effort to help him, we would like to see effort on his part to learn as well.

I know it. I have tried to tell him that. I read the beginners profile and it says that you should only use AAS if you have been working out for 3 years. i couldnt believe that. the first time he did them in 2009 he lifted to heavy, it think at least, and hurt his shoulder and it hasnt been quite right since. he took some time off after that, like 6 months and then started all over with light weight and has been gradually increasing it since.

Then he shouldn't be doing steroids.
He is messing with his natural hormones and body. And apparently that is partly an issue if you are trying to have children again. You already have kids from what i remember. So he is buying illegal drugs and possibly risking getting into legal trouble or worse. All for something its kinda of a hobby that he doesnt want to put much effort into.
BTW i'm sure if it was porn your hubby would be able to figure out the computer.

Not to be mean but I'm done with this tread and kinda annoyed now. I dont mind helping people and putting some effort in researching things for people. But you and your husband expect us to take our time lay out everything for him, but he isnt dedicated enough or it isnt important enough to him to do it himself.

If your guy wants to use a substance and do a cycle tell him that foodadrol and gym training cycles are his best bet at this point.

without proper diet and training aas is simply a waste of money. the gains made are lost shortly after usage stops.

without proper training there is a higher risk of injury for a person without a "developed base" of muscle. tendon and ligament strength to work off.

its not that he wont listen to me. He agrees that he should be watching his diet better and its most ideal when working out. but, he just can't lol. he likes junk food too much. he tries to. but i dont think he realizes how important it all it.

Seriously. It doesn't sound like your husband is ready for an AAS cycle. Even moderate usage requires a good knowledge base in regards to the compound being used, the effects on the body, and how to regulate any sides that may be encompassed in said effects.

Also, what is the point of doing something if you don't put 100% effort into it? I mean seriously, if you think you're husband is going to listen to you just because you're a nurse and his wife doesn't mean he'll have the required knowledge unless you really take him to school, and if that's the case then YOU need to read all the stickies on the forum and outline the cycle for him.

Coming here and posting a thread with vague questions about dosages of a test only cycle makes it pretty evident both you and your husband haven't put any effort into researching anything whatsoever.

Anyway, in the end of the day, even if you school your husband on every minute detail of the effects of an AAS cycle, PCT, and the benefits of ancillaries, you still haven't even touched 50% of the required keys for growth which is diet. Inasmuch, even if you DID teach him the basics of diet, and even went further to develop a diet for him, he would have to be the one to be motivated to eat it! Right?

So, get him on here and lets get to business. There's a plethora of information on this website. Read what you can first, and ask questions as you progress. Just like in nursing school, you have to become familiar with the proper function of things so when something goes wrong you know how it SHOULD be working!

your husband has some serious issues with his lifestyle choices and should definately stay away from aas.

To be honest, from a health and medical perspective, if you see him with a bottle of test, you should slap him across the face for risking his ability to have kids in the future because he wants to cycle without looking into it at all. I'm not trying to be mean here, but neither of you are ready for it(I say this because he's not willing to learn and even though you are, you enable his behavior by making excuses for him). He already hurt himself last time because, more than likely, his muscle strength increased past his tendon's tensile strength and the result was injury to his rotator cuff(probably infraspinatus or teres minor) due to his lack of form.

I'm just going to be flat out honest, he's not ready in any sense of the word, his diet(by your own words) sucks, he doesn't train enough(frequency or duration). I didn't hear mention of cardio anywhere. He has no clue what these hormones do on even a basic level, nor how to dose them, and probably not how to shot them either(I know you do but that's beside the point, since if he goes behind your back and gets an infection how is he going to know until it's already festered?). He has no willpower("he tried but likes junk food too much") and since you mentioned all his toys, he more than likely has the mindset that steroids are just another boy toy for him to play with. If he does this, as prone as he is to sides from what you've mentioned, don't be surprised if he shuts down his hypothalamic pituitary testicular axis, in essence cutting off his supply of leutinizing hormone and, more importantly to you, Follicle stimulating hormone, making him possible less fertile or even infertile.

Btw, you never mentioned he used a Post Cycle Therapy after his last cycle to help restore his levels, which(and i'm out on a huge limb here, since i'm assuming you didn't try to get pregnant before the previous cycle) could be the cause of his lack of fertility now. You might want to ask him about that, and if he didn't, ask him why he screwed with his body and your lives without a modicum of research.

Again, I'm not trying be mean at all, i sympathize with your situation, but you both need to realize the gravity of this situation.

You are absoluetly right in every regard. No, he never even knew what PCT was. When he did a cycle back in 2009, he didnt tell me he was on it. He knew I would be upset about it. I just found out the beginning of this year that he even did them. I was way mad at first. But, what can I do now. He is a great guy, wonderful father and I trust him. We have been together for 13 years. We had our son BEFORE he did that cycle in 2009 and I hes gotten me pregnant once before we had our son as well, when we were both much younger. We never tried to get pregnant until the beginning of this year. It had been almost 2 years since he finished that 8 week cycle at that point. I cant imagine that one cycle causing him to be infertile but im sure anything is possible.

Guys have been known to cause a short circuit in their HPTA, as Phate was saying, with one poor cycle and no PCT. It happens and most regret not researching before starting such endeavors. Last thing he'll want is to end up on hormone replacement therapy!

you know i try to eat healthy as much as I can. not a complete health food girl but you know fruits, yogurt, whole grain breads, etc. so when i buy whitewheat bread or smartwhite bread, i buy it for ME. b/c If I buy only that he gets mad b/c I didnt get him the bread he likes. he likes what he likes and is an extremely picky eater. doesnt like much veggies. likes most fruit. but when i try to sneak in whole grain pasta instead of white, he knows the difference. or when i make long grain and wild rice, he doesnt like that. i tell him its better for you. it doesnt matter. he likes what he likes. hes not a terrible eater. but of course has at least one or two fast food outings a week. which is not good. i hardly eat fast food at all. he doesnt like fish. only chicken and pork. i have been trying to not eat as much red meat lately either. just saying its not easy when trying to eat better myself, b/c i have to buy two of everything and it gets quite expensive :/

    what is HPTA??

this is why I asked him if he will just get a sperm test done, if I am not pregnant this month. this will be month #7 for us actively trying. we never had to try before, both of our other pregnancies were oops/surprises, we were trying to not get pregnant. so i cant imagine what would be so different now besides that one cycle he did. However, its been 2 years now since he did it so its hard to believe it could still be that. He has a few friends who have done many more cycles than him and still conceived, while on cycles and in between cycles.

He agreed to get a Sperm test done after this month. before he starts this cycle. I plan on talking to him about it all and showing him what you all said here on this website. I hate that he wants to do this when he doesnt work out as much as he should. he says hes just "lazy". like doing the test is "cheating" so to speak, just to boost him along the way. if you ask me, i would totally disagree and think he should work out more often and make it more of a priority over other hobbies and things he enjoys. you only get what you put into it ya know?

this is why I asked him if he will just get a sperm test done, if I am not pregnant this month. this will be month #7 for us actively trying. we never had to try before, both of our other pregnancies were oops/surprises, we were trying to not get pregnant. so i cant imagine what would be so different now besides that one cycle he did. However, its been 2 years now since he did it so its hard to believe it could still be that. He has a few friends who have done many more cycles than him and still conceived, while on cycles and in between cycles.
Not if you understand the loops by which the endocrine system works, if you damage them extensively then they can possibly never reset, not saying he did, but it is a possibility

agreed completely, but in this case he could get alot more than he bargained for, and possibly make it so you don't get a child

how do you reset the HPTA?

yep he did it without me knowing about it and if i would have known i would have looked into it first. and secondly, i would have made him do some sort of PCT. Other issue is that he doesnt think about "oh, i might not be able to have more kids" by doing this one cycle. b/c he never really cared to have anymore kids. he told me after our son was born maybe when he was 5 we could talk about it. well, i talked to him about it sooner and he agreed to start trying beginning of this year. he doesnt think that the ONE cycle he did would have caused this much difficulty getting pregnant again.. but now he is thinking something MUST be wrong since im not pregnant yet, when we once were "fertile myrtle". ive had a few tests done already so i think im good to go. if his sperm test comes back normal, then i will have one more test done just to rule everything out. But, he agreed to have that done first. so, we'll see.

An aggressive PCT regimen would be a good place to start. Have him get a male hormone panel done, and may as well throw in the basic blood tests too (cholesterol, lipid panel, RBC, etc), not just sperm.

That'll also give key information about his ability to produce little ones.

That's the problem, you don't. Or to be more specific, sometimes you can, but sometimes you can't, it's a gamble depending on the person and about 1000 other factors. This is exactly why we are so adamant about him not cycling, if you want to have kids, and the first cycle hurt his fertility, this next one could be the final "nail in the coffin", that's assuming his system is even functioning properly now, which is a big IF at the moment.

He has a bunch of other hobbies and things he enjoys doing, more than working out lol...
doing one cycle just to do one cycle isnt worth it. he is going to have to deal with pct, rebound, estrogen, etc. its really not worth it for him to do deal with all that for just a bit more muscle.

At this point I feel that her husband should get a full male hormone panel taken along with the sperm testing.

This way at least he will know for sure what he is dealing with.

i have tried to get his doc to check his testerone levels in the past and he was like "he doesnt need to have that done, he is young and healthy". im going to call tomorrow and tell them we've been trying for 6 months and tell them hes also going to get a Sperm test done, and hopefully this time, they will order the hormones to be checked.

You can order BW online if you want to do so. Your husband needs to be much more proactive in this. Why on earth doesn't he get an account here? Sounds silly to me. And are you relaying everything the members are suggesting to him in real time? or are you gradually telling him what to do? Is he one of those guys who has to be told what to do or just down right stubborn. Some men want to be told what to do in every single step of the way. Some are so stubborn it is futile. Which type is he? And are you one who directs him in a forth right way? or kinda a soft behind the scenes type of way? I ask all of this because how you approach him might make all the difference in the world....

oh you can get bloodwork online? are you kidding me? i had no idea you can do that. do you know where i can find out more info on this and how much it would cost? the sperm test alone is going to be about $180. I have told him in bits and pieces things that have been suggested on here. but, he isnt here right now, so havent had a chance to talk to him about everything that was said today yet. plan on doing so later though.

And are you one who directs him in a forth right way?

He basically trusts me and my judgement for most things, as I am much more educated than he is, being a nurse, etc. So, he is open minded and will listen to whatever I have to say, especially if its only going to be helpful for him.

He is always having me look up stuff on the computer for him. He has an AOL acct but just uses it for google searches and stuff. He really never gets on the computer. I am a computer nerd lol. He is not. He'd much rather be in front of the PS3

Depends on the man as to how I direct them. Gotta feel them out to see what motivates them.

It sounds to me like your man is not motivated here whatsoever. Again, he needs to be more interested in his health than you are. And until doing so, I bet you are shooting blanks. Coming here to this site does not require a computer nerd. Sounds like he makes you the go-to gal for him by having you do all the work.

I bet if you got him to register he would feel a lot better about himself. Plus with men, he might have an issue he just does not feel comfortable discussing with you anyway and the guys could help him sort it out. All of this is very personal. Everyone reacts to these chemicals in different ways.

Is he skinny? Do you think he needs steroids?
