It is my understanding that saliva testing is notoriously inaccurate. So much so that it has been dismissed by legitimate medical professionals. Most of the time this method is utilized by chiropractors and such. It is also a handy tool for unscrupulous supplement companies as saliva tests are often known to give innaccurate , elevated readins of testosterone due to oral ingestion of a variety of substances , ie : herbs , vitamins ,etc.

Accurate or not, the main difference is that saliva tests only read unbound (free) hormones, whereas blood tests can read total hormone levels that are bound by SHBG as well as free.

They are a cheap way to get a general idea where you stand. You can find these cheap. No replacement for blood work IMO but it can be expensive.
