    Is it ever permissible to run anything additional to Test as a first cycle?

    In reading through the threads and cycles in this forum, a repeated theme is that of running Test only as a first cycle.

    Question: Is it ever OK to run something additional, or completely different?

    My situation: I am 29, and looking to put my first cycle together. About 195 lbs, BF a bit higher than I would like - so I would like to cut on my first cycle.

    I want to keep it simple, but also accomplish my goals of leaning out considerably while increasing my LBM and getting "hard".

    Will test accomplish this, or is there something else I can stack that will have a more direct impact on fat loss?

    You should just run the standard 500mg ew 1-12 weeks long with standard pct. We recommend this so that you can see if you have any bad sides or not. Its just the easiest to monitor. If you are running 2 or more things and never ran gear before how will you know what is causing you the problems. The first cycle is ****en amazing man. No matter if you are trying to bulk or cut you can pretty much do it with any compounds DIET and cardio is what is going to dictate whether it is a cutting or bulking cycle.

    Getting your diet lined out before you cycle is by far the most important aspect of cycling imo. I would suggest getting that taken care of before worrying about anything else. If your diet is on, then you will have no issues leaning out while gaining a noticeable amount of mass off a test only cycle. However as to your question of test alone, running dbol, tbol, or anadrol is fairly common to kickstart the cycle (I'm assuming you are using a long estered test such as cyp or enanthate). The logic behind starting with test only is to determine how your body reacts to it. If you were to run multiple compounds and suffered adverse effects, then it would be difficult to determine which compound is causing the issue. Since you are looking to keep a leaner look, tbol would be your best option as it typically does not bloat like the other 2 compounds. Using 1 of the compounds I listed with test on a first is generally thought to be okay because their effects start before the effects of the test, so if you were to have adverse effects then you can discern the compound causing the problem.

    Stick with test. You won't know where the side effects came from, should they occur, if you add other compounds.

    OP, unless i missed the point you were attempting express somewhere above, why is it that you don't wanna run test? Why would you feel you need to add a 2nd compound...especially first cycle?

    As others have said, your physique and look comes from your diet, not the compound.

    Diet Diet Diet.....I get it. I agree that the diet is the major component of results, and keeping healthy in general. That said, I have noticed steadily decreasing results from the diet that I have followed over the past several years. The same diet that I followed previously that got/kept me lean has slowly stopped working, and I have packed on some fat.

    High level diet 2000-2500 cal:
    5-6 meals daily (I train fasted) consisting of

    Proteins - almost all whole foods. Lean animal/fish proteins, primarily
    Fats - Oils/Nuts/Seeds/Egg Yolk
    Carbs - Minimal (except for some fruits), and a refeed a couple times weekly (oats/grains/yams)
    Vegetables - Lots, especially leafy greens

    Cardio is at 15-30 minutes of intervals, 4-5x weekly (every time I train). Job is pretty much stationary, not much I can do about that....

    I'm just not seeing the results I reaped in my early 20's, which is part of the reason why I am interested in gear. Turning 30 this year, and am not at all interested in the office body syndrome.

    I appreciate the comments, and trust me - when I do this cycle, I am not going to short change the diet. It is a critical component to my results!

    Fair enough. It's not that I don't want to do test! I was just inquiring if there is an additional or even better compound to run, to get me lean and hard.

    I see test-only as a pretty consistent recommendation for a first cycle here, and it also seems that a lot of first timers want/need to bulk. As someone who is looking to cut, wanted to see if there was a better option for me. It doesn't sound that way.

    could go with anavar,, you look pretty lean already and know how to diet,, i would think a test cycle would do you good as far as adding lean muscle

    ill agree with this specialy if your looking to go oral only...that being said if you where to start with test and then add var the last 4-6 weeks i think you would be pleased...

    Thanks for the input, and the knowledge! Can't wait to put it to use.

    Looking at the profile for Anavar, it has some appealing attributes. Admittedly, I still really don't know a lot about it, but the fat burning tendencies intrigue me.

    Would a newb such as myself run the smallest dose listed (20mg)? Or somewheres in the middle of the range given?

    i would start at 50mg ed and see how that works for you...good luck...

    If your gonna run something with the test for the first cycle the only other AAS you should think about is Anavar.

    I would highly recomend you up that cardio. Keep your 20min post workout, but add in going first thing in the am, on an empty stomach. Drink some black coffee and hit it for about 40 min.

    I second the anavar, except I would run it longer say your last 6 weeks, 60mg per day.
