    Whatman syringue filters

I want to transfer some Test E from glass ampoules to 10ml bottles. I am not worried about impurities I just want to make sure I don't transfer any small glass shards from the ampoules. So I don't know which one to buy I don't want to buy one that is so fine I can't push the oil through. So if anyone has any experience with this could you please let me know which one to buy? I also want to be able to put a luer lock needle on the end of the filter to transfer it to the capped bottle.

Also how many ml will the filter handle at one use. I plan on transferring 20ml total at one time. So how many filters do I need just one?

This is a great post for the labratory. Bonaparte could most likely set you straight there.

A moderator will be the only one to move it. Post another one in the lab for now, one will get answered.

    Don't worry about it.
Ampoules are designed to break cleanly.
If you're really that paranoid, get a filter needle to draw with, not a syringe filter.

Bro thanks never knew they existed I will try to find one. Thanks again. I also bought some Vitamin B1/6/12 mix for IM in ampoules and they don't break clean at all. They are from overseas. The freaking tops keep crushing in my hands when they snap off

i agree. I've used 100's of amps and never filtered.

If glass ending up in a correctly opened amp were a reality, I doubt any pharmaceuticals would be packaged this way.
IDK where people got the idea that filtering gear out of amps is necessary unless you're a clutz and crush the amp (in which case microshards of glass are the least of your worries).
