If you are truly eating 4000 calories a day and have gained 8 pounds, you are either really small or your math is wrong

average male needs 3500 calories to just maintain his daily weight. You are adding approximately 500 extra per day which adds about 1pound a week. What are your stats now?

hey dec11 I see your point about the calories. Biggest factors are age and activities. I guess I base it more on my standards and go from there. OP is young and only does moderate cardio. It looks like he is progressing fine at this point.

Why not just get a cheap bloodwork panel done and see if your gear is real?
Also, if you feel like you're not gaining enough, eat more.

8 lbs in 5 weeks is fine. Definitely not fake gear.

i agree. What do people expect?
He is up over 8lbs added 20lbs to his bench and is wondering what is wrong.

btw the people who typically gain huge lbs on cycle are the people who shouldnt have been cycling in the first place
