What might be the best for me?

I've posted a bit about my situation in the HRT section and they've been helpful there... I wanted to get some opinions maybe from some others as well who might have tried a lot of different types of steroids though.

My situation is this... I am 33, my test total test level is 647 as of just last week, my free test results for some reason was not included in the test so I am going back to get tested for that as well as liver which was 3x higher than my last test which was 4-5 months ago. I had started taking pretty large amounts of arginine and orithinine, which I have not read to cause liver issues. Anyway, I think that could have been a fluke, I don't drink or do any drugs and nothing in my diet has changed... my pharmacist had told me that pesticides can cause liver function to rise... and guess what? A week before the test on our way home, my Fiancee and I were behind a truck that was spraying all around town for mosquitos. I'm taking milk thistle now and drinking extra water everyday.

    Anyway, back on topic..
Test as I said was 647
my free test the last time which was over a year ago was 1.7, not long after that it was down to 1.6. I am interested to see what it is now.

I have a lot of signs of low test, but the numbers just don't really show it. No morning wood, libido is ok, but keeping things going is more difficult than it was a few years ago. I'm tired a lot. I can't sleep a lot of times... if I do I usually wake up and can't go back to sleep.

It seems like now just looking at food makes me gain fat in my midsection. Some of the other symptoms are loss of strength and muscle.

Part of the problem is I have a bad shoulder. I've been putting the surgery off for a while now because it's quite involved... bone has to be taken from my hip and the socket basically has to be reconstructed. I'm looking at about 6 months recovery time.

If I was able to lift, I know that would help to bring my numbers up, at least a little, but right now, no benching, shoulder or back work can be done. I do work my biceps and triceps a few times a week and I use an elliptical at home for 25 minutes 3x a week and 30 min 2x a week (just working up to a consistant 30 minutes).

I've read quite a bit about different steroids and while I know none of them are going to just magically make me gain back the muscle i've lost... i'd like something to help with the erection thing and something that will help me stay lean for when I go into surgery and through recovery.

I had picked Anavar for the reasons that it's side effects are mild, the liver toxcidity being biggest concern, but because of many people saying how it's good for strength, not for size gains which I don't care about and i'm not going to be able to lift enough for it to matter, it also seems to help with recovery and might help my shoulder to feel a bit better before surgery and maybe slightly speed up the healing process after it.

I have a history of aggression... not in the sense of a record of violence and getting in trouble with the cops or anything like that which is a reason I am not looking to much into test-e or c, and another reason Anavar might be better for me. I don't think it's a great help to the libido though and have read that it might even supress it.

I guess you could say that I have an idea in some areas, but lost in others.

I have written my Doctor explaining everything and hopefully she will go along with me on this, but i'm not holding my breath as the typical doctor dose for Oxandrolone is only like 2.5-10 mg's. I was only planning on about 20 anyway. I don't want to put my liver through to much.

Anyway, i'm open for any suggestions or opinions.

it just sounds like you are getting old and out of shape... the "signs' of low test are just about everything and TRT is basically a cure all... esp when you have a test level of 647, thats higher than mine and im 26!
You say you havent been working out, and not eating really good... thats just getting old. Work on your diet and get back to working out, do the surgery sooner more than later...

    Good luck with that plan.....

When you decide to start practicing medicine with your doctors script pad you can often do better if you stick within the realm of normal therapies, but trying to get a doc to write you a script for Var as an alternative to test when your numbers don't even support standard TRT and on top of that you have a history of elevated liver enzymes well.....its just not likely to happen.

well the liver has never been high before this last time, it was fine 4 months prior so something caused it to just shoot up... I will see when I get my blood rechecked if the test was just a fluke or just what the deal was.

My diet had not been as good but it was never bad... i'm back on my strict diet and 5 days on the ellipical which I know will help over time. I don't care much about gaining mass... but I worked hard to lose 50 lbs years ago and get back in shape... I would like to keep my lean frame... and when surgery is done beef up my delts a bit more than before, but weight wise i'm ok with a solid 160 lbs. That is why I felt the Oxandrolone might be better for me than just test.

You don't need anything. It sounds like you just need to rehab your shoulder, clean up your diet, and get back in the gym.

I cringe at the time it's going to take to get this friggin thing back to where it needs to be. How depressing.

ok guess... one last question then... what can I do about muscle loss pre and post surgery until I can get back to a normal routine?

I had a shoulder repair and after the first month you can do more with lifting and using other muscle groups than you think. Just be patient.

S.L.A.P. Repair. Fancy way of saying Labrum repair. I was diligent with PT. Did it at PT office and at home. I was snowboarding in 5 months and I'm 45 now. Light weights and high reps. Used lots of dumbbell stuff and body weight moves

did you mess it up from lifting? How long ago did you have this done?
