    Thinking of starting my first cycle...

    Hi there,

    I'm thinking of starting my first AAS cycle, looking to do a 12 week course of test e at 500mg a week plus PCT afterwards... I'm 23, 5'7" and weigh 145lbs, have also been training very solidly for the last 3 years, but have not seen too much improvement... also my diet has been very clean as well...

    The thing is I still look young for my age, but I'm pretty sure that I've stopped growing, as I'm around the same as my parents in terms of height (damn crappy genetics!!) another thing is that a few years ago I was diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism and ended up getting a partial thyroidectomy, since then I've put on a bit of muscle, but no noticable gains since... I'm also thinking that the Hyperthyroidism could have delayed my puberty a bit, any thoughts?

    I got my bloodwork done as well, and everything came up normal, can post results if needed.. are there any other ways I can check if my HTPA is fully developed before I start? as I don't want to f*ck around with it if I'm not ready...

    Any thoughts/feedback would be greatly appreciated

    Post your blood work. Sometimes what a doc. says is normal is not. At 23 your too young. At 145 pounds your rather small . If your not able to gain weight naturally its never a good idea to try juice. A lot of times you will gain weight from steroids , but since your diet or unlying issues are still there you will lose everything you gained. This board is awesome because they dont care if you juice or not ; and are more than happy to share their knowledge.

    ah cool buddy thanks for the reply, here are the results:

    Testosterone - 18umol/L
    SHBG - 24umol/L
    Free Test - 0.4umol/L
    TSH - 2.2mIU/L

    T3 and T4 wern't checked this time for some reason... the last results for those I have are from 09. is there anything else I missed?

    Can you put the normal ranges in there for reference?

    According to my European Ref. your Test is low for your age, SHBG normal, but Free test don´t make sense.
    Did you test for Estrogen?

    Bloodwork comes back "Normal" is subject to a wide variety of interpretations.

    ah sorry about that, normal ranges are:

    Testosterone - 8.0-30.0umol/L
    SHBG - 10-45umol/L
    Free Test - 0.20-0.60umol/L
    TSH - 0.5-4.0mIU/L

    I didn't end up getting estrogen levels checked, had to go in to do a yearly thyroid check, so I got my male hormones and just a general check (glucose, cholesterol etc..)

    BW looks good.
    If you have stopped growing it´s not because of your Hormone levels.
    Mixing up your training, checking your diet adding cals. ?
    I kept growing well into my 30´s, and so will you.
    If you want to speed up the process with AAS, that´s another story.

    Ah cool thanks for that, yeah I'm training hard 5-6 days a week, changing up my routine every 4-6 weeks, and my diet is quiet good, although I could add some more carbs to it... And yeah the reason I'm thinking about aas is because I'm not getting the gains naturally...

    Yeah no probs...

    7.30am - 300ml egg whites with 40g whey protein and 60g oats
    10.30am - 200g grilled chicken with 200g green veg
    1.30pm - 200g grilled chicken with 200g green veg
    4.30pm - large can of tuna with 60g muesli or 300ml egg whites with 40g whey protein and 60g oats
    Training - post workout shake straight after (50g protein, 60g dextrose)
    8.30pm - 300g porterhouse steak with green veg
    11.00 - 60g casein shake before bed

    I'm also thinking of adding more carbs during my day meals and seeing how that goes for a while...

    I think that´s a great idea.
