The smallest i have used is a 25ga 1 1/2 and using a bigger needle to draw it up, it will take a bit of pressure to inject but thats not a bad thing.A 23 ga is good also,thats what i use for everything except HCG and peptides.

22g? You are a madman.

I use recently started using 25g 1" for delts and quads, and 25g 1.5" for glutes. Not only is the 25g painless, but it helps me inject slowly.

my dad gave me a shot of penicillin with an 18g in my glute and i will never forget that feeling. It felt like i was getting tazed! roll with 23g and 18g to draw man!
