Are prescription drugs / some OTC's more dangerous than a test cycle?

A buddy I work out with from time to time who has never ran a cycle thinks steroids will shrink his nads, enlarge his heart and prostate, sterilize him and cause him to have lots of anxiety after he comes off. I've ran two cycles, both were test prop. The first was coupled with Var and the second with deca. The main sides I experienced were acne and loss of appetite/sex drive after I came off. I ran pct properly and recovered quite well. I'm 32. So I want to know just how wrong I might be. I've been arguing that many Rx drugs are more dangerous than a mild cycle of steroids - such as the ones I have run personally. I'll list a few drugs and you tell me what your thoughts are? More serious potential for negative side effects and mood swings?

    Zoloft
    Prozac
    Ephedrine
    Viagra
    Paxil
    Testosterone
    Oxandrolone

I've read about people becoming suicidal after coming off zoloft. Am I deluding myself into thinking a mild cycle (500 mg test / 100 mg Ed Var) is less dangerous to the body than some of these other drugs?

if test fks you up long term then no,, i would think any prbs you have with the other drugs would be more short term.

All drugs are potentially dangerous and everyone is different. I have never had any problems with Test, anti-depresants or pain killers. I have, however, twisted an ankle and taken some stupid risks while drunk. Alcohol is one drug that I have avoided for quite a while because of a proven track record of bad results (not exactly side effects).

You're not deluding yourself in your thinking that some of those drugs have dangerous side effects. Is your logic based in the idea that doctors will prescribe those drugs knowing the possible side effects, so taking steroid must be equal to lower risk?

    Quick paxil story:
A few years back I hit a rut in my life and became depressed for a few months. My primary gave me an RX for paxil. Not following my better judgement I started taking it as prescribed. A week in I woke up at around 3 am and felt a tremendous need to flee my apt. I called my parents, packed up a bunch of boxes, and brought them down to the curb of my complex. After waiting outside will all my belongings I felt another urge to flee; left all my shit on the corner and went back to my room and fell asleep.

When I awoke; I was in a cold panic remembering what I had done a few hours earlier. I ran out of my apt to the corner to find all my belongings were gone. After getting back into my apt. I realized all my stuff was still inside, nothing was boxed up, and my phone had 0 calls to or from my parents.

The entire episode never happened. The eery part of the whole ordeal is that the event is written into my brain as if it really happened.

Yeah thats my logic. Granted treating depressionb may be a little more of import than putting on lean mass, I think the other drugs are Just as if not more dangerous.

Got it. I dont condone the misuse of any drugs. Using steroids in lieu of proper diet and exercise is like using anti depressants in lieu of addressing the actual causes for your depression.

I agree with you, however in my experience I've found Doctors are just as guilty of the latter as a fattie is of the former.

I don't condone that either, but the question was more or less which one has more dangerous side effects and I think the anti depressants win. Doctors will argue they are treating something for more serious with anti depressants and while that may be true; it doesn't change the fact that they have more potentially dangerous sides.
