Hey all, I have some test prop and some others that expire in Nov 2011. (1 month past due) Im not using it or anything, and not planning to. But how valid do you think these dates are, I mean, what makes it safe to use sept. 30, but not nov. 1?

it could lose some potency , id use it if it was only a month after the date and looks ok.

If this is pharmaceutical test here is the situation. Almost all drugs have a different shelf life, many are years and years so testing the actual shelf lives of all the various drugs (before being able to label their expiration date) is really not an attractive option for drug companies particularly with drugs that last 5 yrs and more. So for this reason the drug companies and the FDA have come to an aggreement that they will simply put a two year date on drugs that will last at least this long. See this is plenty of time to use the drug, plus dating the drugs longer than this only hurts profits for the drug companies.

So the long and short of it is if a drug is labelled for 2 years you can be sure that at two years and a day it does not become useless or poisonous LOL. More to the point you can be sure that they will exceed the date by at least 50%, with many of the long esters being good for as long as the oil stays viable so for things like test cyp in cottonseed oil (high antioxident levels extend shelf life) the shelf life will be well over 5 yrs for a short ester like Prop 3 is surely safe (both potency and rancidity)

Expiration dates on AAS mean ****-all.
It'll be fine 5 or even 10 years from now.
I have yet to hear of anyone using old gear that expired and didn't work (even stuff made in like '98).

I have had AAS tested that was 5 years+ past expiration that was still 100% label claims.
Storing it in a dark,,cool,,dry area helps its shelf life.
