    Aspiration - The ultimate question

Hey all - I have used Test a few times however I was wondering... we always hear 'ensure you aspirate ' (draw to see if there is blood) ...

and from what I have researched is that so it doesn't go in a blood vessell....

so.. what happends if it does? :S are they bad consequences...

Nonetheless I still aspirate however... u know just curious.. we always hear to do it... but no real reason why... apart from... 'to avoid a blood vessell'

Would love to hear anyones responses.

you don't want test in a vein. not really sure why. they say do it, and as a safety precaution, i do it.

I have pinned many many times, and not once have i ever drawn blood when i aspirated.

I aspirated just to be safe. Can't ever remember having an injection in hospital or at the doctors where medical staff have aspirated though

If you hit a vein anywhere in the body, the first organ the oil will encounter is the lungs (where the blood is oxygenated, then sent to the heart and pumped out to the brain and body). The oil will coat a portion of your lungs, causing a coughing fit. Theoretically, the oil could cause a pulmonary embolism (potentially fatal), but I doubt you could accidentally inject the volume needed for this. I've never heard of anyone actually dying from injecting AAS, but it is possible that the coughing fit could trigger a panic attack or exacerbate some other potentially fatal condition (like a heart condition or asthma).

I have had numerous medical injections and not once has he doctor/nurse aspirated so this leads me to believe the chances of anything bad happening are very remote. That being said, in the aas world, we are a bunch of hypochondriacs and we expect the worse in every situation and act accordingly.

This isn't a bad thing though.

The issue only applies to oil-based compounds.
You can inject just about anything water-based intravenously without issue.
Few drugs come in an oil base besides AAS.

Ive actually accidentally injected into a vein, and your description of what happens is about spot on, i couldn't stop coughing and my lungs were on fire, i could also taste the oil in my mouth. About 10 minuets later i was wrapped up in bed with the worst fever ive ever experienced which lasted for about an hour, scary to say the least...
Do not ask me for a source check.
