    Lansoprazole

    Hi all,
I have to take Lansoprozole every day for stomach acid reflux. Lansoprozole is a proton pump inhibitor which reduces stomach acid. My question is, could this drug effect nutrient uptake and absorbtion of protein? therefore reducing gains. My thoughts are that due to lower acid levels, digestion of food could be affected. Does anyone agree?

I am familiar with the drug and your idea has a possibility, imo i would say no...I would pay attention to my energy level and bowel movement...to know how my body is absorbing and processing the intake

I think your fine bro. Not treating your acid reflux would be more counter productive in my opinion.

Well, are you shitting out your food whole? If not, I wouldn't worry about it.
Bear in mind that the majority of nutrient uptake occurs in the intestines, not the stomach.
