How do i know if I've reached Genetic Potential?
Ok......
I'm 25 years old, 6'1 and 210lbs, and am beginning to consider AAS. I've been researching for a while about the pros and cons, and am prob gunna pin one day, but id like to make sure that ive done all that i can to take my body as far as it can go on its own. ive been lifting and dieting for a couple of years and am in the eschelon among lifters in my gym. I think its safe to say ive done that much right... Now here's where my ? comes in... Im not sure about my family history bc my father and his father died at and early age, and my father was on meth, so i can rule out what he weighed, but we're about the same height. all of the the males on my motthers side of the fam are either obese or out of shape to the point that its hard to consider them. So is safe to say that Ive reached my Genetic Potential?

When you stop gerowing and you are not getting any stronger and when your effort to get bigger/stronger far exceeds the results per effort, then you have reached your genetic potential. Sure in a lab setting where you get exact food eatios and amounts and consistent sleep, nutrition, etc, you might reach 220. But if youve been the same weight for over a year and you dony see any improvements, in real life, it is most likely a genetic potential. Btw im 25, 6'2, and weigh 215 at 11%. Ive been heavier and stronger while on creatine. But im pretty much never gonna be over 220a lbs at less than 10% bf.

I'm not sure about all of that. I agree that with a proper diet and training you will make gains even if it's only a small amount; however, age and natty test production plays a big role in this. Eventually as you age the gains you make will be limited, maybe and most likely start going backwards. Now I'm not saying a 50 year old can't make gains with a good diet and training...Here it would depend on their background. If they just started working out then yes. However, a 50 year old that has been working out since they were 20 yrs old with proper diet and training WILL NOT continue to build LBM....eventually you'll start going backwards.
The OP isn't that old, I'm just making a theoretical arguement.

Im about 12% bf. and i train about 4-5 days a week trying to lift heavy but staying in good form, for about 45 min to an hour. trying not burn too many calories. In a bulking cycle right now. For diet i just try to stick to the basics, lotta protein and carbs, and at least 5 meals a day. sometimes even getting up 3-4am to stuff protein to try and stay anabolic . not really using any supplements right now, just a multi v and fish oil. usually use a preworkout, seems to really help my pump. my ultimate goal is to get about 230 while maintaining about the same bf%

That's one hell of a goal. My advice would be to go to the diet and nutrition part of the forum and post up your complete diet. Make sure to list all of your stats. Age, weight, height, bf%, training exp. For each of your meals list your total macros. Fat, Carbs, Pro, Cals.
By doing this we can see your exact diet...If your diet is perfect and your training regiment is perfect the maybe it's time for something else, but I would be willing to bet that the pro's in the diet forum can help you tweak your diet to get you some serious gains.
Good luck.
