What happens when I hit a vein pinning?

Pinning delt w/ 100mg prop this am. Big squirt of blood when I pulled out, and lump at injection site, but that is going down already 10 min later. My question is, am i still going to benefit from the gear that didnt squirt out w/ the blood?

yes of course. you just went threw a vein so it bleed when you pulled the needle out.

Yup you just went through it like gixxer said. The prop went on the muscle under the vien so it was only blood that you lost, not gear. Trust me if you pushed prop in a vien you would know it.

I remember the first time that happened to me squirt out like a water gun...lol very scary untill you find out the reason

Normal for IM injection. A trace if any came out with the blood.

I have been extremely careful about aspirating and loaction choices for the entire time (about 10 years) of injecting and haven't ever experienced the worst case scenario of meds going into a vein. But, I have to admit to being morbidly curious about what that experience would be like. Has anyone ever had that happen...can you describe the experience.

Like I've said, I realize it's morbid curiousity but hearing the potential outcome may reinforce the importance of caution for those of us that haven't had the bad experience.

You will know if you do it. I guarantee if you hit a vein you will make damn sure you don't do it again. It is a terrible feeling. For like 10 min you will cough and sweat uncontrollably. I have had it happen in times even after aspirating. Now I aspirate like 3-4 times every injection because I don't ever want to do that again.

I'm still waiting for that one unlucky pin, hopefully it won't be as traumatic!

Aspirating is the key. As long as you do that and inject slowly you should be fine. First time I went through a vein I was on here asking if I did something wrong too. So you are not alone.

Believe me, it's hell. If it does happen, just keep telling yourself that you're not going to die and you'll be alright in a few minutes.

It means instead of injecting right away and pushing down, you pull up to see if you draw blood. If you draw blood you know that you just hit a vein. But honestly you have to be a real unlucky SOB to do that lol
