Thread: Possible Infection

    Possible Infection

Approx. 72 hours ago I injected 1.5 mL of test p (100mg/mL) and 0.5mL of eq (250mg/mL) in my left quad, each of which is homebrewed. I've been running the prop for a few weeks and it has been as smooth as butter; however, this was my first injection of the eq. The following day the injection site became noticeably sore and stiff (not unusual for quad injections). The day after was my day off at the gym and hit some cardio, prior to the cardio the site was nearly pain free - but still swollen. But, following my nap after the cardio the pain had returned (common for the pain to return when I wake up). At this stage though, some small red patches had shown up on the injection site. Today, a large portion of my quad is red and still inflammed.

In response to this I jabbed myself in the injection site with a 25g guage and drew to see if there was any fluid to be drawn. I felt slight pressure going in, this was no different than it often is when hitting scar tissue. There was a slight sense of tension release when breaking through. I'm not sure at this stage if I am paranoid of a cyst, or if it is a viable option. Some dark blood was drawn, but nothing outrageous or out of the norm. While my leg is very sore, it is still rather functional, I can run on it, despite the discomfort.

At this stage I'm thinking a few potential options, if infected:

    • Air exposure caused the eq to become contaminated during vialing process
    • I didn't let the eq sit long enough following vialing (injected ten minutes after, as opposed to waiting a few days)

    If not infected:

    • Serious virgin muscle syndrome
    • The alcohol content may be too high in the eq and I'm getting a bad reaction

I'd also like to note I brew through a .22 filter. Opinions appreciated! If no progress in the next two or three days I guess I'm off to the doctor's. I'll be trying to get my hands on some sort of antibiotics tonight or tomorrow. Thanks!

you seriously jabbed it with another pin thinking that would help?
I'm not sure what may be wrong with your eq.
But you did inject a foreign chemical into your leg. Some times it gets irritated. That can be normal part of injections
If people can't tell your on steroids then your doing them wrong

is the site warm?you highly increased the chance of infection by jabbing a swollen injection site. wait a 2-3 days as redness should go away, if redness spreads u have an infection.

do not go by pain. pain can last a couple weeks when pinning new substances/virgin areas. go by redness and if the site injection feels warm

A former am BB friend of mine once told me that there were times when he'd have to go back into an infected injection site with a syringe and extract puss. He spoke of it as if it were perfectly normal and to be expected. Luckily I've never experienced this, and amusingly I've never known anyone else who has.

To draw fluid, if there is an infection it is localized, as I have no fever/flu. Curious if a cyst had developed or if any fluid was present. If it were, I'd certainly know an infection was present; however, I'm still in the dark. Lol.

It is warm, but nothing outrageous given the level of inflammation. The swelling and heat are not out of the norm for painful injections, it is the redness that is bothering me. It appeared yesterday in a small patch (one square inch, max.); however, today it is the size of my hand - essentially spanning the entire length of the inflammation.

First time I've resorted to such a thing and hopefully the last. Mind you, no fluid was drawn, other than dark blood.

2% BA, 15% BB. I eyeballed the measurements, however. I think the BA may have been a little high, my arrogance may have got the best of me. If it is an issue with the BA, the gear is useless (unless I unvial all of it, cut it with more grapeseed oil, and refilter). At least if it's bacterial, I know in a few days it'll be good to go again.

I'm really hoping you have some advice for me Boneparte.

I would have to agree with both above. I've had around 5 infections over the years and if the red spreads and is warm after a couple days just got to the doc he will give you some pills and it will clear up in a couple days....good luck brother

Tomorrow, I'll be injecting the other leg to see what happens. Hopefully I can get this sorted out. Going to get some antibiotics from the Doc tomorrow as well. Thanks for the help guys!

Don't go jabbing with other pins and trying to perform self surgery !

It sounds like injection soreness, damn I've had some swollen sites due to highly concentrated ugl stuff but unless you feel I'll in yourself it's not an infection. Get a heat pad on it and some ibuprofen gel if it's too bad.

Also, quads normally hurt like hell !
