Greetings, new here!
Before I continue, i would like to state that i am 19 years of age, however have a long training history. I started lifting at the age of 14 (obviously light) and have continued my progress until today with no major breaks. For the past 2 years, I have really focused on heavy weights and have really been amazed at my progress. I have compared myself to all members of my family for 2 generations, and i could say i have definitely surpassed any of them by a large margin. I have been doing bulking / cutting cycles (natural) for the past 2 years, with my current stats being 96.5kg with about 14-16% bf (bit high, cutting starts soon) and 188cm. I have trained 6 days a week for the past 1 year, leaving 72hours between training the same muscle groups.
My squat is 140kg for 7-8reps (wide stance, below parallel). Bench is 115kg (proper technique, pause for 1 sec then press) for 3-4 reps unspotted. I have recently been researching the use of steroids mainly on this forum. Making my way down the list of the link database. Very often i see that the age to even consider using steroids is 24, and I respect that. However, I want to know if this is definitely the base for all people? If you took a glance at me, you will probably guess that I am atleast 23-24 (iranian genetics) due to my facial features and size. I have read about 60% of the link database and have a brief idea of steroid use and post cycle therapy. However, I just want to know is it worth investing more time into researching more about steroids at my current age? I can easily get a hold of any substance because i know several people who i talk daily to at the gym and they have been cycling for 5 years+ and participate in BB compitions. I have spent about 15-20hours reading this forum and if i do plan to do my cycle, i would be cutting down to 8-9% bf and starting within 8-9months (i will be 20 by then) and ofcourse investing much, much more time into research.
As for my diet, i have been maintaining 250-300g protein daily on bulking and 200-250g while cutting. When cutting, I have found that i gain more energy through good fats rather than carbs so i try to keep carbs down to 50-70g while maining fats at about 150g. While bulking, I usually just focus on meeting my protein macros and a calorie surplus.
So just to restate my main question, should i even consider doing more research in order to start a cycle when i have cut down in about 8-9months given my current bodybuilding history.
Thanks for your time, and i hope the information wasn't too lengthy.
