Question for people running cycles from a trt patient.

    47yr male
6'2" 180lbs, been lifting consistently for quite a few years.
I'm running trt Test-cyp 150mg a week currently. I am splitting my doses into twice weekly 75's. I'm on my 8th week. I was diagnosed with very low T, I'm under a dr's care, etc.

Here's my question: When I was doing a 100mg injection, it would shoot me through the roof, mentally. I would be (overly) energized, extreme trouble sleeping, really a severe head change. This would last 3 days or so and then I would have a heavy crash as I came out of it. I switched to 75, which is better, but still really noticeable.

I have no idea how you would inject 250, 300, or more and not lose your mind. What happens to you when you do these injections? I'm assuming that since I'm coming from a place of very low T, that perhaps it is really shocking to my system and it isn't the same kind of upswing for your system?

Appreciate any insight on how it effects your mental state.

i'm also on trt crusing and blasting .. when i first started trt i had the same problem , test can cause insomnia even on trt dose until your body adjust itself . if you're going to cycle then sure it'll worsen everything ,try to add some melatonin or doxylamine or even valerian( a natural relaxant and a mild sedative)

That's interesting Test Cyp is a pretty long ester. Longer then Test E. You should be able to take a shot every other week and not affect your endogenous test level. There should be no advantage taking Test cyp twice a week over once a week, theoretically. If you're saying taking Test C once a week is making you go nuts and twice a weeks is awesome, who's to say you're wrong? I have a friend doing TRT take takes 300mg every other week and have no problems. Guess, we're all different.

Right, except that the half life is 7 days or so, and the first 3 days you're at full strength, and then it drops off. It's sorta like a sine wave, that builds over time, flattens out to a degree, but still has a top and a trough. It may be that after a few more months I won't notice.

I can't imagine taking a shot every two weeks. That would be quite a roller coaster. Does your friend notice the effects at all?

I can feel the shots kick in 12-18 hours after injection. It took 4 weeks to get to that point.

Im on HRT also. I was doing once a month. Quite the roller coaster. I just started doing 100mg a week. I wish I could feel a difference after 12-18 hours.

I'm sure it's different for everyone. I can take caffine right before bed and still fall asleep.

How does it work for you, then? How much were you injecting once a month? Did you notice it?

Do you get to the point where you just don't notice it when you are cruising?

I did 300mg of test cyp all at once. At the time, I was just following doctors orders. It took about a week to hit, then I felt good for about two weeks, then down, another shot, another week to come up.....
I just started a week and a half ago on 100mg a week. Im working on gathering as much info for a blast before summer.
HRT definately makes a huge difference in quality of life. Im really looking forward to it being leveled out.

That's because Ill bet even if you dont know it you have ADD or mild ADHD. Drinking 1 cup of coffee knocks me out. I have to have a minimum of 3+ large cups to feel anything.

I feel pretty much nothing from the test if it's 100 or 400 a week, it's all physical changes for me.

Not to sound like a freak, but I have diagnosed add. I have been prescribed Adderal and Ritalin. Test has a similar effect on me.

Test has dramatically reduced my coffee consumption. So weird. I have craved 3+ cups a morning for 3 years. I'm down to almost none.

I should add that I haven't taken that stuff in many years.

I think some people feel the spikes more than others, some prefer a big spike, the subq guys like no spikes! Personally, whether I inject 80 mg or 200 mg, the spike feels the same. Injecting cyp 2x a week... I get two spikes and I like it better than 1 a week so might as well split it up. Like you said, everyone is different.

Bump - hoping for a little more feedback from people running heavier cycles.

Fresh people doing the supraphysiologic doses may just be more willing to deal with the sides that go with it. Blasting is a different world from TRT. Stick to your twice a week protocol. You'll do fine.

No worries there - I have no intention of blasting. I don't have the diet or exercise protocol. Plus I'm old as f*ck. I'm just surprised I don't read more about people dealing with heavy mental state changes on these big doses.

Thanks to everyone for the insight.
