Has anyone crossed the border to Mexico since the war has begun? I'm wondering if it is too risky now days to cross back and forth over the border (with drugs) due to increased security. I'm hoping to take a trip down there soon. Any feedback would be appreciated.

It's always risky, searches are random, but on the safe side, think of it has a 75% chance you'll get searched. Best thing is to stay calm and don't look nervous. I would suggest getting only what you need and not be greedy.

Claiming some mexican alcohol might be a good idea. Some people say you can claim gear, maybe ask the customs officer before when you enter mexico because I'm not sure of that.
