    Pump/twitch on pecs

I know back pumps are common, I get them sometimes but about an hour ago I had the strangest thing happen on my chest and was wondering if anyone else has experienced it?

I was reaching back with my left hand and my left pec did a crazy contraction/twitch... it was so bad that at first I thought it was my heart. I was a very strange feeling like while it happened I got dizzy. I was able to replicate it by doing the same reaching back motion and was able to watch my pec "twitch". weeeird. Ive been staying on top of my water intake and potassium to avoid the back pumps. I think it may be time for some taurine too. Now my pec feels really tight, like uncomfortably tight.

Any ideas on what that may be? Electrolyte imbalance? torn ligament?

I'm no doctor or even a medic, but if you got dizzy, I'm gonna say it had something to do with blood pressure. I could be wrong though, you should try to get Bonaparte's attention on this one, or Lemmonada8, they would probably have more of an educated insight on such a subject.

Sounds like a muscle twitch. Very common. Causes are FAR too many. Could be anything, too much caffeine, crap diet, stress, even unnatural movement can cause this.

The dizziness is probably because you were in one mind set, felt the twitch and looked over quickly. Was it short dixxiness and went away? Did you get dizzy when you replicated the twitch?

Im no doc, but I get twitches sometimes. When I was pinning my delt a couple weeks ago my bicep on that arm started twitching like crazy. Then it stopped.

I get twitching muscles all time I have always chalked it up to my workout for the day being tbat it always coincides together and especially my chest. Infact I love the feeling kind of a sign I had a good workout. Now I have never gotten lightheaded with it either so that is alot different. Hope someone csn confirm wbat this is. I have never given it much thought. The twitching being different then what you would get from like a lack of potassium, like what happens just before a cramp. More shakes then twitching just fiber breakdown.

That sounds normal for anyone who lifts hard.
Are you new to working out?

No, chest work out was 4 days prior to that

Yes it was short in duration. Only happened as "twitch" was happening. Just to clarify, it wasnt your normal small twitch. I mean the entire pec contracted violently. Like I said, weird... and yes, it did happen again when I tried to force another "twitch"

Nah man, been lifting since I was in High School. Im going on 33 now. Never felt this before. Even after intense workouts. Well, it hasnt happened again since my original post so Im considering it a fluke and case closed until it happens again. Hopefully it doesnt.
