    High BP

My bp was a little high today at docs office for checkup. It was 136/86. What sort of supps do people take to combat this while on cycle. Can't really do cardio. I burn more calories than I can eat then. I know it wasn't that high but I'd like to be responsible to some degree and keep it in check.

136/86 is medically considered the prehypertension phase, meaning it could be dealt with before introducing any BP medication.

Excessive water weight in human body is one of the typical reasons for causing HBP.

I am assuming you are currently on a cycle, so use an AI if you are not already.

    Decrease your daily sodium intake.

IF edema is not causing HBP, then there are other alternatives to deal with this:

Take a serving of baby aspirin ED.

Drink plenty of water and green tea throughout the day.

Do not smoke tobacco or drink alcohol.

Introduce CO Enzyme Q10 to your daily supplementation.

Consume fish oil, EVOO, flax seed oil, grape seed extract, and nuts in order to decrease the amount of damage given to vessels by HBP.

Emphasize low GI fruits, vegetables, low-fat dairy products, whole grains in your diet.

Get rid of simple sugars in your diet (everything except some low GI fruit).

    Try to reduce stress.

Stay away from stimulants that will further increase BP, such as Clenbuterol .

Personal suggestion; up the calories from the suggested foods above and do a low intensity cardio on a daily basis, that way you shouldn't at all have a problem with burning more then what you eat. You won't be burning muscle if you do this, that's for sure.

And I'm taking .25 mg liquidex eod. I don't feel like I'm carrying water but..... I think I'm gonna hit the aspirin coq10 and cardio and see what happens. The nurse def pissed me off while I was there so that could have contributed. Also had coffee. I really hate to quit stimulants but I guess I may have too after this

There are recent studies showing that coffee is in fact not guilty of causing HBP.

Coffee would be amongst the least of my worries, frankly.

Agree with he Turk on most everything. Throwing in some cardio would be my main suggestion outside of cleaning up your diet. Drop the stimulants in favor of some hiit cardio if fat loss is a concern. Also, if you're like me I tend to get a bit stressed going to the doctor and my blood pressure tends to always rise. Take deep breaths and have them retake it at the end of the appointment. Bp monitors Are also cheap. Buy one and take your bp first thing upon waking. You'll get a more accurate reading.

I have found that when you're on cycle, "normal" methods of BP control (like cardio & clean diet) aren't enough. I use a vasodilator (Cialis), it works flawlessly.

If you dont want to take cialis, you can take L-Arginine. It is a precursor to nitric oxide which is a vasodilator as well. It may not be as effective as cialis but a little more natural.

I bet your doc didn't even blink at this reading. Keep monitoring. But no need to worry yet.

5mg - 10mg ED is enough to lower BP significantly in most people.

Guys I promise my diet is on point as far as being clean. Literally I eat nothing more than eggs, nuts, sweet pot, oatmeal, chicken, lean beef, fish, veggies, apples, peanut butter, rice occasionally, and whole grain taco shells. I can't get any better to be honest. I may throw in ocassional sushi and I drink nothing more than coffee, lowfat mik, water, and mix in protein powder. I supplement flax oil and cook with olive oil. I space all meals three hours apart. I'm a little stressed but not enough to effect bp I wouldn't think. I may supplement l arginine as well because I just dropped my preworkout supps and they had it. Doctor asked me how I feel and asked if I had trouble urinating. I'm assuming he was thinking prostate (very low grade fever most likely from sunburn) or water retention. He said not to worry about fever or blood pressure. He said treat the patient not the numbers. I don't feel as though I should be concerned but I look at it as a preventative thing. I don't want it to get out of hand. I thank everyone for chiming in and I will take all advice. Curious about cialis. I've never even looked into it or how it acts. I was under the impression it was much like Viagra and I don't have a problem in that department. Also gonna up my adex to .25 mg ed because I had a thread earlier this month about water retention where I gained 7 pounds in 9 days so I know I was having the water problem so....

I'm currently using 60 mg/ed, but I'm also on some pretty fvcking retardedly high doses of gear too. Before I raised my gear dose, 20 - 30 mg/ed was sufficient. 10 mg never did anything for me, but maybe your body will respond to it better than mine. And for the record, I'm not using 60 mg/ed because I want to, I'm using that much because that is the effective dose for me right now, I refuse to allow my body to be in even a pre hypertension state, let alone full hypertension, some people say "oh, 130 / 90 isn't that bad, its just pre hypertension", that is unacceptable to me, I will accept nothing less than 110 / 65 - 120 / 80, anything over that is an imperfection that needs a remedy, right now 60 mg/ed does that for me.

Remedy one thing with another. . . . Ugggh.

Is Cialis just like Viagra? I know it's daily, but is it the same mechanism?

OK, I'm not sure i understand what you mean, of coarse you're "remedying one thing with another" as is EVERYTHING in life. Do you think things that need fixing just magically get fixed / cured without some sort of effort & or tool / mechanisim? You cant expect a leaky roof or a squeaky door hing to just remedy itself right...............no, you have to get some tar on the roof & some oil on that hinge. The same concept applys to high BP, if you dont do something to remedy it, it wont just remedy itself. So yes, I "remedy one thing with another".....................just the same as you & everyone else in the world. As for the similarities between Viagra & Cialis,...........all i know is they are both Vasodialators, other than that I dont know anything about Viagra, I have done zero research on it because it is my understanding that Viagra gives you an "involuntary" hard on, as where Cialis is only "ready when you are". I couldn't care less about the sexual benifits of either of these compounds honestly, I only use it for BP control, however, I'm not interested in a BP medicine that will make my soldier stand at attention for 3 - 4 hours involuntarily.

    Vasodialators, < that's what I thought.

No, Viagra or whatever the generic name is doesn't really just give you mad wood. Doesn't for me at least.

But, Cialis kind of sounds like a pretty good remedy for high BP. Which will hopefully go away after I am off cycle.

My blood pressure spiked when I started TRT. My primary care doc wanted me to stop completely and I refused, so she put me on lisinopril. I am good to go now. My BP had been borderline for the lasy year before starting TRT, so it wasnt a huge deal for me. I am 40y/o though and slowly trying to get back into training and eating right again

I've had high BP since I was a teen and finally a doctor put me on blood pressure medication. I take lisinopril with a diuretic combo pill. it's a world of a difference on my BP tests. The only thing I hate about it is having to drink so much ****ing water. You can tell you need to drink more water because otherwise your face will look sunken in.

OP, the sodium substitute, Potassium Chloride (NO SALT) can lower your blood pressure too. You wont even know the difference when you put it on your food too.
